ICC must stop with events each year stupidity

Isn't ICC getting overboard with this?

They must have only one event for each format

They must also stop shrinking CWC to 10 teams or 9 teams affair

Make it atleast 12 sides ,I'm sure Nepal,Ireland, Zimbabwe can cause few upsets and bring drama/life to WCs(there maybe exceptions like we had in CWC2007)

They only do these because they want to beef up the product they can hawk in front of broadcasters while negotiating the next deal. It's a matter of time when the broadcasters too get weary of the drama in organisation and the declining viewership for non-contests and focus their dollars on guaranteed paybacks like the IPL and test series between the big 3.

There should be only 1 ODI WC, 1 T20 WC and 1 WTC in 4 years. That's 3 championship for each of the 3 format.

WTC can be a 4 year cycle instead of the current 2 year cycle. A three test series final would be an apt conclusion.

CT should be scrapped.

Ideally, this.

Greed knows no boundaries.

ICC is on that path.

ICC is there to make money not look after best interests of the game.

England and their colonial mindset is the reason behind 10 team 50 over world cup. They did not want too many minnow games wasting their time in 2019.

They have already turned World T20 into a joke.

CT should remain there but T20 WC should be every 4 years or scrap it completely . WTC also fine every 2 years cycle. Give more importance to ODI and not tamasha cricket, at international level.

CT is a blatant money grab but unfortunately ODIs are about to go extinct.next world cup might be the last.

2031 is in India so surely not getting scrapped before that

Way too much cricket being played currently & that is not even including multiple biryani-korma leagues going on at any point in time somewhere in the world.

As I was asking in an other thread, I can't even keep up with the test matches that is happening right now.

Dream XI and many other pseudo gambling apps have propped up and govt is taking nearly 45% of money involved in that. Every cricket match govt is earning some 100 CRs. This is why too much cricket. :--D

Yes too many ICC event hard to track who won what, there is one t20i champion, there is one Odi champion and then there is a test champion.

which kind of looks like changes every year. Kind of reduced the value of being a champion as ppl know there is another Icc-event and there will be another champion.

Teams are not planning to win ICC events they are taking it as they come, top players are missing these events due to injuries.

Previously it was like team would prepare for 4 years sorting out their best 15 and then 11. top player trying to keep themselves available for these ICC -events.

And once some1 is champion they will remain champion for 4years and they try to remain dominant for that cycle to prove that it was not fluke.

ICC test championship is completely fraud .... how many teams are really looking to win this or have some goals for it.... teams play year around and then champion gets decided by a single game.

Some are saying its because of too much of bilateral series and they should bring back tri-series. Not telling tri-series stopped because it was not attracting any audiences both on ground and tv when host was not playing and if hst crashes out of final then finals was lacklustre  Even Icc events witness empty stands no audiences when host is not playing.

As for leagues its hard to stop them there are 102/108 cricketing boards every1 like the idea of having a league of their own few are approved by Icc few are not.

These leagues themselves are not making money, had issue with payments to the players and would be some for case coaches and other ppl and staff involved.

But think there is some thing is going on underneath that ppl are ready to invest. Player are making quick money and some some be involved in other activities .....

BBL was also franchise league but that was not making any money so its now again run by CA and their associated boards. For The Hundred ecb is thinking of talking to IPL owners for somekinf of partnership as it not proving the kind of success that ecb thought it would be.

Don't really understand CT. When the WC is a 10 team show, what's the point of CT. If the WC was more inclusive and had more teams like the soccer WC, by all means it would feel more premium - battle of the best of the best. But that already happens in the WC since 10 strongest team plays the main event anyways.
