I won't mind Rana playing but Akashdeep is the better, more dependable option as of now.

Yup massive conversion issue. Joe Root had conversion issue of going from 50s to 100s. But this guy has conversion issue of going from 20s,30s to 50s. That is mediocre

Yeah. Rana is good in short bursts but Akashdeep is a better bowler to hold up an end and bowl with control for long spells and should also get wickets. The last game got away from India because they couldn't keep control once Bumrah finished his spell and Rana started losing steam and spraying the ball around.

In 2024, Bumrah averages 29.5 and Siraj averages 60 + against left handers .

 

It's especially an issue when they have Travis Head in their lineup.

I think if it is a fair pitch - it is advantage Australia.

 

However if it is venomous pacy pitch - it is advantage India.

 

Kind of similar to how a square turner in India actually worked against our spinners when we played Aus in India.
