Popular Post Number Posted January 2, 2025 Popular Post Posted January 2, 2025 (edited) A few hours later the confirmation is here ‐------- Collected these from twitter feeds of some reporters who were there. - 2 chairs were kept today for India PC. - At the last minute one was removed and Gambhir came in. - Gambhir refused to comment on whether Rohit will play and said will see the pitch and decide team combination. Strong murmur in the PC room after this and he is again asked about it and he said the answer remains same. - On being asked why captain isn't there in PC, he said the head coach is here and that should be enough. - Long chats between Agarkar, Gambhir and Bumrah. - Gambhir comes to nets to give a pat on the back of Gill and shakes hands with him - Bumrah follows Gambhir and does the same to Gill (next VC ??) - Rohit is not seen in the slip cordon practice for the first time New slip cordon - Kohli, KL, Reddy - Rohit comes for a late batting session with just throwdowns. Now they have made it interesting enough to see who walks out for the toss tomorrow. Edited January 2, 2025 by Number raki05, Master_better, Laaloo and 8 others 2 1 8

The captain is appointed by BCCI not the coach. The only way this would have happened is if Gambhir asked Rohit to step away for this match and Rohit agreed or was persuaded. If he had dug in, the BCCI would have had to sack him

If you're talking about GG he is a former BJP MP, purely in terms of "influence" he has it more than anyone in the current setup including BRat. Now if you take MI, RCB or CSK that's when things change, because indirectly these franchisees would have more influence especially when it comes to protecting their brand values, although I doubt they'd like to go against the BCCI right now for players who'll likely retire within the next year or two!
lemsip Posted January 2, 2025 Posted January 2, 2025 Whatever he did it's the right outcome and that's what matters at the end of the day Number 1
Sean Bradley Posted January 2, 2025 Posted January 2, 2025 Wont be surprised if we all of a sudden play with unexpected Urja and Josh. If somehow we manage to pull a victory here, the answer would be an obvious one, that the problem was always Rohit Sharma and his captaincy. Manucrick 1
R!TTER Posted January 2, 2025 Posted January 2, 2025 I wouldn't say he was the only problem - BRat has been a bigger issue for us for at least 5 years now! The obvious solution for him would've been to leave captaincy himself, ideally he should've "rested" himself for the last test against NZ & let maybe KL or whoever else to lead the side. You have to remember that it's not just his captaincy that's been bad - team slections, specially at home have been well below par, plus this *ing stupid "intent" thing It's the second time I'm hearing that *ing word after BRat dropped Pujara back in 2018(?) during Eng tour! NRI will face the heat if he continues to remain an NPA. Till now, majority of focus was on Rohit and he was flying under the radar. Now, with Rohit allegedly not playing Sydney test...he might not have choice but to perform.
