saransh Posted February 2, 2025 Posted February 2, 2025 (edited) Just wanted to call this shot out by Abhishek, Archer is continuously bowling between 145-150k's and he just steps out and drive's him over cover for a six like a spinner!! This is just an insane shot, just the guts and courage to step out to someone bowling at 150k's deserves applause and this guy just stepped out and drove him over covers like a spinner! Unreal talent! One of the best shots I have seen in recent times! Edited February 2, 2025 by saransh Vk1, Mosher, Need4Speed and 4 others 7

Ultimate_Game Posted February 2, 2025 Posted February 2, 2025 He did the same multiple times in IPL against everyone. He and Jaiswal need to be the openers in WT20 next year. rollingstoned, cricspirit, express bowling and 2 others 5

Not ready for ODIs but wouldn't mind him play ahead of KL Rahul and Ruturaj. Am still waiting for Jaiswal to get in ODIs. Abhishek will come in a lot later. Manucrick, Laaloo, raki05 and 2 others 1 4
vvvslaxman Posted February 3, 2025 Posted February 3, 2025 This used to be Ganguly's pet shot. Giving a bit of room and thrashing through off side. When you open both sides you are impossible to bowl to. One reason Suresh Raina was so effective in teh end overs. He could open both sides. velu, TheBull, raki05 and 3 others 1 5

singhvivek141 Posted February 3, 2025 Posted February 3, 2025 Abhishek yesterday actually reminded me of Sanath Jayasuria, the way he used to smash Venkatesh Prasad & Manoj Prabhakar. tweaker, raki05, velu and 6 others 7 2

Bat down swing a bit like him. But Yuvraj doesn't have full follow-through all the time. Sometimes he just checks and stops. YUvi had a lot more brute power and timing. Ganguly used to play like that against Pollock. THis is one of a great off side display. THe way he thrashes AKram through off side is sublime https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6EubDk-hKA
Bigg Brother Posted February 4, 2025 Posted February 4, 2025 Whole innings was masterclass. Hardly any mishit, was picking pacers' slower ones and Rashid's googlies like genius. All the shots were proper, India might have cracked jackpot in the form of Abhishek.

Throwaib_Chuckter Posted February 4, 2025 Posted February 4, 2025 (edited) Though the track was relatively benign, it was an innings played with poise. I mostly liked his shot selection and placement(s). If his step outs become unpredictable combined with standard shot-making it will be a nightmare for most bowlers. Chamsi Posted February 5, 2025 Posted February 5, 2025 Let’s all remember what’s happening to this Sharma. We can’t have another Sharma opener, it’s the same arc all over again. Mohit, Rohit, Karan all have the same f*cking arc.
Vk1 Posted February 6, 2025 Posted February 6, 2025 If Gill doesn't try to go in Kohli's footsteps.. it will be breathtaking to see both Gill and Abhi playing together in shorter formats
