Abhishek's cover drive six off Archer

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to call this shot out by Abhishek, Archer is continuously bowling between 145-150k's and he just steps out and drive's him over cover for a six like a spinner!!

This is just an insane shot, just the guts and courage to step out to someone bowling at 150k's deserves applause and this guy just stepped out and drove him over covers like a spinner! Unreal talent! One of the best shots I have seen in recent times!

This used to be Ganguly's pet shot.  Giving a bit of room and thrashing through off side. When you open both sides you are impossible to bowl to. One reason Suresh Raina was so effective in teh end overs. He could open both sides.

Yes,came to write exactly this

Ganguly used to play on the ground. It was more Yuvi like

Yuvi doesn't give too much room like him.  Bat down swing a bit like him. But Yuvraj doesn't have full follow-through all the time. Sometimes he just checks and stops. YUvi had a lot more brute power and timing. Ganguly used to play like that against Pollock.   THis is one of a great off side display. THe way he thrashes AKram through off side is sublime

Though the track was relatively benign, it was an innings played with poise.

I mostly liked his shot selection and placement(s). If his step outs become unpredictable combined with standard shot-making it will be a nightmare for most bowlers.
