Popular Post Texan Posted April 4, 2025 Popular Post Posted April 4, 2025 Making Tilak retire out only to be replaced by Santner, who if anything, is an inferior batsman and hitter was the second time Pandya has singled out Varma. Would he have done the same to Rohit Sharma? If he was India captain, would he have retired Kohli in a similar situation? I think you know the answer. A year ago, despite Varma playing a blinder, Pandya singled out Varma for criticism citing that he did not show enough intent early on against spinners. He had hardly played a couple of balls that time against spinners early on when wickets had fallen. It seems to me that Pandya is biased against Varma. Not sure what the issue is but it is possible that Varma being a new young and upcoming player is causing some jealousy to Pandya. putrevus, Sgattick10, raki05 and 7 others 4 6

Hes biased against a lot of young players actually while at the same time has an inflated opinion of himself. However, I dont think he was involved with this decision but sounded arrogant in his post match interview. Anyways he’s (Pandya) probably one of the worst chasers around as he simply lacks the range. crictime Posted April 5, 2025 Posted April 5, 2025 (edited) Retiring an international player in an IPL league match, that too very early in the tournament was a big call. Yes, Naman did play a cameo but he was promoted before Tilak who bats at 3 in T20i for India. It has to be a very poor decission considering the batting options that were left after him. His batting position has been unnecessarilly changed imo. Edited April 5, 2025 by crictime Manucrick, nevada, express bowling and 1 other 2 2

jf1gp_1 Posted April 5, 2025 Posted April 5, 2025 Looks like Surya protested the decision. Hardik was in middle couldn't have been his call. Find it hard to believe it was Mahelas call. Maybe owners.

The decision to bring back Pandya from GT in an under-handed fashion has destroyed the team chemistry. They should've let Rohit go if they wanted Pandya as captain. The whole situation is crazy - Rohit is the ODI and Test captain of Indian team, and SKY is the captain of India T20 team and Pandya plays under both for India. But at MI Pandya is the captain and both Rohit and SKY play under Pandya in IPL. Make it make sense. My fear is that this politicking can seep into Indian team as well. Ambanis have destroyed not only MI team but also put in a divide between players while playing for India as well. They should've simply handed over the captaincy to SKY or kept Rohit as captain and all this drama would've been avoided. Plus Bumrah might be p***ed off as well as he has legitimate right to be MI captain too. Ambani's decision to hand over the captaincy to Pandya and playing 4 captains in the team has made MI like Pak and the Tilak situation is just the symptom. Tilak is close to SKY and SKY has backed Tilak - even giving up his no. 3 spot to him and moved to 4 for India. Suddenly for MI, Pandya is batting Tilak at 5 and SKY wasn't happy with the decision to retire him out. So clearly the team is divided, and all thanks to idiotic Ambanis. Tillu and New guy 2

So to me it didn't look like a pandya or skys decission.

This is a tactical decision who ever took they may have thought that some new legs can bring them into the chase. RR once subbed Parag with Ashwin think this is where it started from. If that would have gone for mi there would have been many who would have taken credits for it and now that it has not worked no one wants to take the blame.

vvvslaxman Posted April 7, 2025 Posted April 7, 2025 There was this Rohit camp/ Pandya camp last season. Tilak was firmly in Rohit's camp from what I heard. Lord 1

The Realist Posted April 20 Posted April 20 Why was he screaming & ranting at Varma mid innings today? Hates younger players who he sees as a threat?

Whatever he said, it worked. And afterward, they were celebrating together, so it didn't look like anything malicious. It may have just been a motivational speech like: "BC, actual mein agar tu maa ka doodh piye ho toh aaj match jitaakar hi rahoge!" Edited April 20 by BacktoCricaddict Ultimate_Game 1
