Till a month back, I was of the opinion that there is still a section in Pak society which wants peace and maybe PM could find a way to work with these moderates for betterment of region. 

 

Today I am convinced there is nothing called moderate in Pakistan. They have two sets of people, one can actually kill second set are thinking of killing.

more details to come but we cannot ignore what started all this-the pahalgham massacre of hindus.we need to overhaul our intelligence ,need more human intel across the border and make it impossible to infiltrate the J&K border and keep an eye on drones at all times.

Back then she didn't have to deal with nuclear powered nation. Having said that, big fan of 1971. But if you read the media reports of the time, she was called a coward because she went in 6 months too late and damage had already happened and Assam demographics were altered for good.

I kind of disagree...getting embroiled in a long drawn war is not a smart idea ...the population is hostile and or jehadi mindset...we don't want them in our country and moving the border doesn't eradicate the problem..I prefer shart short acture kinetic action and covert operations backed by economic coercing to subjugate the failed country

IG achieved nothing. She didn't withdraw from IWT, take back our (not so radicalized Gilgit and PoK) or increase our chicken's neck in BD. She was as big a failure in seeing things through - if not worse.

Thats the problem …. Somebody should have gutts to take such hard decision and ready to sacrificed sizable population of ours in order to wipe off complete Pakistan from the map. But as we know we value life more than politician and army genral in pooorkistan. For them firing nuclear bomb is only resort inspite of knowing that they will be wiped off and thats the only card they play, i still believe this is just their blackmailing tactics but still no sane politicians in india would be ready to take that risk.

India militarily achieved what it set out to do. Retaliate and not escalate.

 

- Surgical strikes deep within Pakistan territory without fear of external pressure

- Retaliated to their strikes back

- Indigenous Akash system took down all drones and incoming targets

- S400 battle proven

 

So, how is India at a loss?

The optics needs to be better managed.

It look India agreed to a ceasefire within 12 hours of Pakistan's operations. Great for their domestic consumption and chest thumping.

But optics are whats perceived. Not what is true or false.

 

And the optics the Indian media peddled - Karachi port destroyed etc - makes the Indian agreement to a ceasefire seem like India caved in.
