(a) The Air defence systems of India have done really well. If there is one aspect which India has a huge edge over Pakistan is that its air defence. Pakistan are sitting ducks.

(b) Drones have been deployed effectively. 

(c) Artillery remains robust. More to be added.

(d) The Su30 seems to have given itself a very good account. Remember this was the jet with the most issues in 2019. Has been deployed to its strengths. Avoided the PL-15

(e) Punjab and Lahore are in play. I am glad that this is not limited to JnK.

 

Negatives

(a) The general lack of air dominance. If it turns out that Rafales and few more jets shot down and out-ranged by the PL15 then this raises a serious issue. Meteor has a longer no escape z.one, but PL15 capitalised on the fact that it had longer range. BVR continues to be a struggle. Especially if you cannot attack effectively with a Rafale then its a bit blunt and you need to have other missile based approaches.

(b) The navy IMO should have come to the party. You want to stretch Pakistan. Why not a sphere with the most delta? Why is Karachi port not choked off?

Is S-400 effective against BVRAAMs and small jets as much as it is against drones? Because, Pak will escalate to missiles next.

Victor Gao may not hold an official title, but dismissing him outright misses the bigger picture.

The real concern is that China is increasingly open to supplying Pakistan with advanced military technology, potentially even the J-35. That changes the strategic equation, and India will have to respond sooner or later.

This evolving dynamic will likely force India into a major decision: whether to deepen defence ties with Russia or pivot toward acquiring the F-35 from the West.

It will be against jets and BVRAAM.

 

So we need to see what hit our jets. PL15 from J10/JK17 or the HQ9 system.

I think they have it coming. we waited 13 days for sindoor. lets wait the night out. I'm sure the thinktank has something in plan
