rangeelaraja Posted May 9, 2025 Posted May 9, 2025 Guys 2-3 billion dollars to Pak is nothing - we can destroy 15- 20 billion dollars of their collateral in a matter of 2-3 days. They don't have the money to repay all of this. Don't sweat over 2-3 billion dollars. Its a shame that we have to sweat over 2-3 billion dollars of loan to Pak we have to when we have reserves touching $ 700 B - and access to the best military tech money can buy.

India should have called UK & told the trade deal is stopped, if this loan is approved without Pakistan standing down, told EU that the trade deal talk will also be stopped. Providing free money to a country that is vowing to attack india is an act of war against India, this should be made clear. Yeah! … so now stop a trade deal with the UK because of Pakistan and let the citizens of India pay more because politicians don’t understand the dynamics behind Pak’ strength! Uderstand posturing, no one is actually stopping it. Send a message, pretty sure the western countries also want the trade deal more than giving free money to beggars.

It will probably expose that India lacks meaningful bargaining power. Issue is that most of the opinions of India is great (where it can influence beyond what it has historically managed. India is not at that stage yet) is formed by discussing with other Indians, creating an illusion. Edited May 9, 2025 by zen
Prabhdeep Singh Posted May 9, 2025 Posted May 9, 2025 I think it is quite unfortunate that friendly nations are both in wars themselves: Isreal Russia

The soviet era bonding should not be ignored too.

Not necessarily as it could not be A v B, but A & B. Think of it from another angle - say Pak decides to open its market and even give military bases (a good proposition for someone seeking to expand military presence) to the US and in return asks for it to not do trade deals with India, the US will likely not oblige.
