Bumrah - The real King, Emperor and Hitman

As the title says, Bumrah's the real MVP. He's the one who's the true King, Emperor, Hitman or any other cringe worthy titles you want to bestow on him. He's the one who makes the game look totally different when he's bowling, and when he's not.

 

He has carried the team on his back and it's a shame that he never received the support from other team members, especially from batters. And with Shami gone, and Siraj regressing, he's the only difference maker we have.

 

Edit: I've never seen a single player have such a huge impact and make such a big difference. Take Bumrah out and India is probably a mid-tier team and can lose to anyone. With him in the team India can beat anyone, anywhere.

To some extent...Bumrah had a partner. He is in the image above.

I want to see how well Sham & Bumrah have performed together in Tests.

 

I have seen the ODI's numbers somewhere...Shami's number improve massively when he plays alongside Bumrah. Batters go easy on Bumrah and then try to take off Shami thereby giving him wickets.

I don’t know about best fast bowler ever, need a little more playing time for that, but he is definitely the single most valuable player India has fielded.  That includes SRT.

Bradman is considered the best based on 52 matches. 

 

Bumrah is playing his 46th match. And what point is the sample size enough to rank him as the GOAT? I would after  around 60 matches in his career - assuming he continues the way he has for another 15 matches.

He already has had enough impact. He won 2 series in Aus, has performed in SA and should've won in Eng and SA if he had better support from batters.

If you select an ATG XI team for India, he would be the first name on the sheet followed by Kapil. Tendulkar and Gavaskar will follow later. It's easier to replace a batter as you get similar performance maybe with a slight drop-off. But it's not easy to replace a world class bowler, especially someone like Bumrah.

Bumrah's tragedy is that he is in an in-between gen.

 

If he was older and had come around 3-4 years earlier his peak would have coincided with Kohli-Pujara-Rahane peaks.

 

And if he was younger and came around 3-4 years later his peak would have coincided with Gill-Jaiswal-Pant peaks.
