Why is Sarfaraz not in the scheme of things anymore?

Why not give Sarfaraz as many opportunities as the peerless KL and then discard him as a failure.....

The peerless KL gets 60+ tests at a batting average less than Rahane .... Sarfraz does not even get 10.

BTW I think people like Sarfaraz and in the future even that Ayush Mhatre etc should focus on the IPL. Ignore test cricket as there is too much politics in there.

On the same line, a few posters wanted to give K Nair as many chances.  They hv got their wish fulfilled by now.  So, we hv one confirmed exit. (Probably the only takeway from an otherwise disastrous tour)

So because Nair failed no one else should get chances like the peerless KL.... sure he is playing okay now but was stinking it up for years but the chances persisted.

Why Eashwaran is not tried

(a) For good or for bad, Easwaran is typecast as an opener.

(b) I think he has a pattern of doing well enough to get on A teams, but when there is a last chance to prove himself he gets out quickly.

Apparently he leaked dressing room happenings in BGT to media, and Gambhir has lost trust in him because of that.

Gambhir accused him of that in his report to BCCI. No enquiry was done. He is just shunned now.

Because

1. his name is “Sarfaraz” and Gautam  is BJP member

2. Sarfaraz is phat and looks unfit

3. he can’t play fast/ short pitch bowling.

beginning to think Gambhir might be on ICF. One of The realist, coffee rules or laaloo is Gambhir in disguise  :phehe:

This post made me laugh and  provided some relief from the pain of the recent test match loss! Of the three you mentioned, The Realist seems the closest!

If that's the case, DSP shouldn't be playing all matches either.  :winky:

I was rooting for him for long. But he looks more like badrinath part 2.

Rahul is like Broken clock most people only see when the clock is showing the right time and keep saying he is great.

They conveniently forget all other times it is showing wrong time.

KL and Sarfaraz bat at different spots. We need a new #3. Pant bats at 5.

Similar to Ashwin he is been labeled as home test player only, it similar thing they are nt trying him outside home condition and the last home test series Ind played they lost.

Hence the elimination of home condition only player.

Some very poor shot selections against NZ in home series costed him. One of them was a full toss from Ajaz Patel he picked up a fielder at deep square leg.

Aggressive players come with their stupid shots quota. You have to back the youngster.

Dont think Gambhir is the man to handle youngsters

If he wasn't in the scheme of things he would be in A team or 11 Vs NZ

It would have been between him and Nair, Nair probably edged it based on county experience

Btw Nair has been alright this tour seems to be looking good only to get a good ball that gets him out

Sarfaraz's technique is suspect and he is only suitable for Indian pitches.

Lol its people like you who would write off even Smith. chandrapaul, Bumrah, Lara, Sehwag, etc while keeping TTF because they "look good".

Pant arguably looks even worse yet is our most successful batsman overseas for over 5 years now. Yet people dont learn their lesson.

Sarfraz is not eccentric like Sehwag or Pant.

Never liked his technique.

Absolutely hate Steve Smith.
