I can totally see why Sai got in : county experience and comfortably outscored Easwaran Vs lions in last year home series

If God forbid Jaiswal or KL got injured you'd expect easwaran to play

Sai got in due to the IPL.

First thing to look for is domestic numbers and Sai's are very poor. Logically Easwaran should have been preferred as he was also there in Aus.

Ganguly's dad used to be a very combative person, frequently getting into fights with CAB and BCCI bigwigs. Was a big businessman in Calcutta.....Dada was so used to luxury growing up, that he refused to carry his kits/bags in his first tour abroad and in county in the 90s.

Ganguly 's dad was CAB Secretary in  early 1980s. His elder Brother Snehashish Ganguly also played Ranji and I saw him play 1989 Ranji finals .Being CAB Secretary , cricket politics and fights were par for the course. In fact, Dada's early career sufferred being part of an illustrious cricket family  as lot of the press believed his 1992 Australia tour selection was due to his dad 's influence and zonal selection .He got to debut in tests 4 years later due to this perception.

Access to media and bcci letting players talk/speak their minds (which is a good thing), playing are using friends/family to speak for them.

Have nt seen this particular interview but now friends and family should be aware of what they say and if they have opinion/qualms they should present in a fair way without naming any particular player.

In Easwaran's case he has been selected in the team for lot of series now and yet to make his debut (if I am not wrong) he can only wait for his chance, not having an IPL contract or a team backing some player is big detrimental for them specially the ranji specialist

Ques : Why dont they come out when they are not selected for an IPL team ???

Could have taken Nair's name instead of a fellow Tamil :wp19::wp6:

Nair scored some runs in this tes atleast. Sai also currently is not a fit for no 3 position. He needs to tighten his technique.

Must be agonizing for the player and the father. He at least deserves a debut and a chance to fail.

Another player that comes to mind is Badrinath, who played 2 Tests after averaging 60+ in >100 Ranji games.

That said, putting a mike in front of aggrieved parents is always going to bring such reactions. What else did they expect?

Indian media is worse, they just want headlines.
