No, 2021 Gabba is by far the greatest Test and that series was our greatest series. 2001 Kolkatta, 2007-08 Perth/WACA are some other standouts and even the Lord's 2021 was special where Bumrah and Shami scored quick runs on 5th day and bowled Eng out within 2 sessions. This one is up there in our 2nd tier.

i think it depends on if one prefers to intellectualize a win (perfectly valid) or go by the drama. i tend to go with the latter which to a degree depends on the former but occasionally the drama stand up to anything - today was that day

eh? there's something about british indians and pakistanis growing up in the uk. fully integrated, passionate about all england sides especially football but it's always the ancestral homeland when it comes to cricket. never mind the indians came over here rec3ently of course they will support india

I mean the homelands kind of suck in the other sports lol so obviously England is supported.

 

Tbh British Pakistanis might start supporting England now considering how bad Pakistan is.

Repeatability is also a thing. Put these Indian and English XIs against each other in same venue, same conditions, it will mostly be equal. Put those Ind and Aus teams against each other, Aussies would win 95% of the time. That was a miracle, this one was a logical conclusion, where we have won more sessions but unable to show in results column.

For me, Australia will always be the gold standard in this sport. Beating them in a big occasion trumps everything else. Picked it up right from childhood, invested in it since 2001 and 03-04 BGTs, 03 WC final, so many epic sagas. 

 

Same thing in other formats. Beating them in 2016 WT20 group game (Mohali) was sweet. The Nairobi CT 2000 win was more special than some of our ICC tournament wins. 2007 WT20 SF Durban>>>>>final against Pooks in Joberg. 

 

Just Australia things. They are the greatest cricket nation of all time and will remain so for the rest of our lifetimes, so anything associated with them becomes more prestigious. 

 

Come on guys, I am sure you all will rate the 2007-08 CB series win in Aus (beating them back to back in best of 3 finals) above many ICC KOs.

Said the same thing post Old Trafford draw also, compared to SCG escape it felt low stakes....as if we were playing a cheap pretender instead of the real deal. Saying it again here, whilst still a great day (especially in context of Ind-Eng rivalry), Gabba was something else.

#1 would always be Gabba.

This one would be somewhere in the top 5 in terms of fighting till the end and turning the tables. Adelaide 2003, Wanderers 2018, Lord's 2021 also come to mind.
