I agree with the sentiment but I don't think the blame is with the BCCI. It should have been the government which should have shown leadership and terminated all sporting relations with Pakistan. They just left it to the BCCI which is a commercial body full of babus looking to maximize their earnings and India-Pak is the goose that lays golden eggs ( or at least used to). Hence we had the farce of 3 encounters one after the other in the so called "Asia cup". Where BCCI try to take a strong stance they screw it up as they did in forcing a private club KKR to terminate the contract of one of their players. There again if relations between India and Bangladesh had broken down, it would have been far easier for the GOI to simply stop issuing work permits to Bangladeshi players rather than BCCI playing heavy handed and randomly pulling out players. Overall BCCI getting involved in managing politically tinged issues and relationships is always going to be a disaster - they do not have the skillset or aptitude for that and it is best for everyone that they stay out of this area.

how the F beggardesh escape without penalty? + awarded an ICC event before next ODi wc with ind as co-host? wtf

That was always likely. Their non participation didn't cause any losses and the ICC had enough time to get a replacement. They will miss out on their share from this event anyway. The only way they would have got sanctions is if they had adopted a confrontational approach which was a real possibility. It looks like better sense has prevailed in the BCB and they have smoothed the waters to avoid the worst case for them.

My take on this, an edge case scenario (or rather a Bollywood fictional sub plot)

 

1. Pooks-Kanglus were planning for a fidaeen attack in SL, courtesy of their beizatti in Asia Cup and IPL

2. Pooki players were told not to travel as their gotis might get damaged in the fidaeen attack

3. RAA got info about it, and they opened a new front by activating BLA & TTP launching multiple strikes with Pookistan. Which lead to amateur killing of the fidaeens who were subjected to blow themselves.

4. With no backup in place and risk of losing points, Pooks-Kanglus sat together and decide to go ahead with the match against Hanooods.

Someone said on twitter the fact that there are no "blackpilled" Pakistanis despite where the country is at shows how idiotic the entire population is.

 

A much richer and thriving India has lots of "blackpillers".

There was no penalty anyway.

 

Their penalty was not playing the WC and not getting the participation fees for it.

 

They will get a u19 wc which they would have got anyways as the woman's t20 wc was taken from them.
