BacktoCricaddict Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) Bring in someone like Shreyas Iyer and move Dube into the finisher role. It's time for Rinku to go back to the drawing board - still young and can come back. Edited February 12 by BacktoCricaddict raki05 and G_B_ 1 1

deepdynamo Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Rinku is a massive problem now. At No.7/8, a batsman who doesn't bowl is a big liability if out of form. In the crisis situation vs USA, he played a shocker 6(19) In a finishing situation vs NAM, he played 1(5) Gambhir needs to be ruthless here. Washington Sundar is a straight logical swap.
Suhaan Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Rinku playing wrong format,he can be your middle order red ball batsman He has more lows than highs in 20 over cricket Manucrick, raki05 and tapandrun 1 2

tapandrun Posted February 12 Posted February 12 If rinku is not dropped from 15 he should not be dropped from 11 specially for sundar. cricspirit 1
putrevus Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Rinku is problem, but Iyer is not the fix. He also bats in top order and he also cannot play finisher role. You cannot have single dimensional players past number 4. tapandrun and cowboysfan 2
Gollum Posted February 12 Posted February 12 In Premadasa, Sundar will be handy. Pooks will come in with 6 spin options, we can't rely just on 2-3. Lone Wolf 1

We need all 4 in the XI....KD, Chakri, Washi, Axar. I won't be surprised if even Dube enjoys bowling on that pitch. Don't need pacers.

Ultimate_Game Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Iyer is a top order batter and ideal for no. 4 spot. He should be a shoo-in after the WT20 to replace SKY. For lower order Parag is a better fit but I'll give Rinku this tourney and then make the call. After the WT20, Iyer, Jaiswal, Suryavanshi, Parag and Vipraj Nigam should be brought into the mix with Iyer as the captain. Need more naturally attacking or multi-dimensional players. Vipraj can play the role of Axar and Parag is a much better option compared to Sundar in LOIs. Sgattick10 and cricspirit 2
Nikhil_cric Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) The problem with him is his lack of spin playing ability. He sucks against spin in this format, he can't anchor through the middle overs when it's 10/3 on a tough pitch nor can he put spinners under pressure with big hits on flat wickets His only utility is to come and blast pace at the death but even then, that's usually on pitches where the entire batting lineup had fired anyway. Need someone more versatile like Riyan Parag in that lineup. Edited February 12 by Nikhil_cric tapandrun, Lord and Norman 1 2

If Kuldeep plays then Arshdeep sits out. We cna't have more than 3 specialist bowlers. Bumrah and Varun C are certinties which leaves only one spot open. If it's a turner drop Arshdeep to get in Kuldeep, though I would prefer an all-rounder (Parag or even Sundar), else stick to Arshdeep.
