Ironhide Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 (edited) Dhoni vociferously defended his Trundler-love after the humiliating defeat in the last India vs SA ODI, the exact statement is as follows: "We tried going for fast bowlers - bowlers who bowl quick - but we realised that they are giving the opposition more runs and we were better off playing with people who are more into their line and length. So you have to see what the best solution is as of now. " http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-south-africa-2015-16/content/story/933746.html Edited October 26, 2015 by Ironhide
CG Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 lol.Somebody show him rpo of so called line and length bowlers.
vvvslaxman Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Not the right time to make that argument. Not that his argument is flawed. But we only categorize bowlers into two categories "Fast bowlers' "Line and Length bowlers" like they are mutually exclusive. In one dayers on flat roads neither of them are going to create an impact. It is the intelligent, smart accurate bowlers who can mix it up will prevail more often than not. Predictable line and length will be pasted around even if it comes at decent pace. sscomp32 and bowl_out 2

putrevus Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Why can't be fast bowler developed to have more accuracy, Speed and accuracy are not mutually exclusive, this is the biggest issue I have with Dhobi. He never gives fast bowler a chance to make mistakes, I rather have fast bowler who goes for 70 and picks up 4 wickets than a trundler who goes for 50 on decent pitch. We all saw how powerless trundlers become on a flat pitch. This guy needs to understand fast and accurate bowlers are not born ready, they need to be developed which means they need to have a captain who is patient. The captain needs to tell them bowl fast and look for wickets forget about accuracy.Accuracy will come once they get success, this nonsense he is preaching has ruined Indian cricket he needs to be sacked.
BlueBee Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Only a shameless cunt will say something like this even after the bashing his loving trundlers went through. This man is shameless, classless and everything less and less. adi B, Gollum, Mahaa Raavana and 1 other 3 1
fineleg Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 @vote (poll): He is not a "retard", he is "stubborn". He is a smart guy, but I dont think you can find a more stubborn guy. Once he decides, he never changes. Wonder how sakshi deals with stubborness in him, or maybe she has his credit card, and that's good enough.
rkt.india Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Both bk and Mohit played in Wanderers ODI on last tour and opened the bowling because of his accuracy philosophy that slow pace bowlers are accurate. They didn't take any wickets and Kock thrashed them and they scored 360 runs.
adi B Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Lol as expected,he'll never ever learn!!Doesn't he get bored of talking the same shit over and over again,he tries to act as a politically correct and diplomatic person (a good scope of becoming a bcci paid commentator after retirement)

They didn't take any wickets and Kock thrashed them and they scored 360 runs. That Joberg track was a GREEN track.Even the test pitch wasn't as lethal as that ODI pitch and we conceded 350 on that.
kruiser Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Mohit >>> Umesh only in Dhoni's fantasyland. Hope this was his last ODI series.. but not very optimistic about that.
New guy Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Umesh would have gone for 150 on that pitch the way they were going. Actually he has a point huh #Lolipop bringback grandpasssAny proof? He would have taken 2-3 wckets and slowed them Mosher and Rasgulla 1 1
The Realist Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Even the host on the Cricinfo pod with Ajit Agarkar (better than any of the current "bowling talent") said Mohit-me Sharma is not good enough to play at international level.Yet in Dhoni's braindead mind he is a f regular and plays game after game after game. Cricketics Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I think it is good that Bhuvneshwar has gained some pace. He knows that his lethal weapon is swing over pace. So since now he seems to be bowling in higher 80s, I am sure once settled, he will be more suited for ODI cricket and also for test. Give him some time, as you can see that he is really working hard on his bowling. You can not gain pace overnight. He is trying hard and we need to give him some time. I am sure he is trying to swing same way as he used to. It will be matter of few months and he would be the best in India soon again. I can bet you that he will be our best bowler in worldt20 next year.

Silva Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) You can tell by listening to dhoni that he was always forced to pick Yadav or Aaron. He is always going out of his way to criticize them in the media. In the 2015 world cup he probably was pissed he had to play yadav ahead of the Vinnay kumars, or aravinds of the world even though Yadav was the 3rd leading wicket taker in that world cup and the main reason along with shami why that world cup didn't end up being an epic disaster for us. Malcolm Merlyn Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Yadav was Indias highest wicket taker in WC.He bowls poorly in 2 matches and dropped.Dhoni and this selection committee needs to be sacked Gollum, CG and Ankit_sharma03 3
swatpulla Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 All great men are somewhat delusional, but they make up for it by being exceptional with some other skill. But right now, Dhoni is not even half the player he was, and his delusions are hurting us. Don't think we can afford to have him around.Losses don't hurt me, but the fact that he is willing to do nothing about it sucks.
Ironhide Posted October 27, 2015 Author Posted October 27, 2015 Umesh Yadav is actually scared of Dhoni and always thinking whether he will be dropped every second match, you can easily notice that Yadav tries to avoid Dhoni even during wicket celebrations and that last interview in which he was praising Kohli as a very good captain and then added a last line that Mahi bhai is also a good captain shows the politics and fear Dhoni commands over the Indian team. bowl_out, Ankit_sharma03, Gollum and 1 other 4

Umesh didnt perform 2 games in Wc. Players like jadeja , rohit raina perform after ages n yet given so many chances....Why such a diff criteriaInfact he comes in press conf n says we need to move away from bowlers who ball fast. Wud have shattered that guys confidence. N what line n length bowlers is he talking about . they bowled wrong length most of the series . short of gud length on indian pitches wid 125k speed. N wid such speed batsman like abdv , maxwell make their own length. E.g - abdv stepped out to arvind in t20 game , wen he tried to do same to umesh in 2013 CT he got beaten for pace n lost his wkt. The whole notion of bowlers wid low pace r line n length bowlers is so wrong n defensive. N these guys r no Mcgrath or pollock who had gr8 variety, knew how to use crease had wrist n height tp get extra bounce, had spot on yorkers . N wasnt this speed turning out to be a potent weapon for us in Wc. To be honest if u look at bhuvneshwar eco against strong nations that proves his theory completely rubbishBhuvi eco-Aus-5.26sa-6.55Nz-5.43ohh n even bang-5.50N 55 matches 60 wkts Thats a completely rubbish record
