On 24th March 2016 after the India vs Bangladesh match in the World T20, a journalist asked India captain MS Dhoni if he was content with India’s one-run win over Bangladesh. Dhoni replied back with a “I know you aren't happy that India won today” and went on a small rant about how Cricket does not follow a script.

On 31st March 2016 an Australian journalist asked the 34 year old Dhoni, "You have achieved virtually everything that a cricketer could. Are you keen to continue playing on?" Dhoni went on to make a mockery of the journalist by inviting him on stage to “come have some fun”.

On 5th April 2016 Suresh Raina responded to a journalist's question about his preference for the coaching role. On being asked if he preferred an Indian coach or a foreign coach, Raina retorted: “Are you comfortable with your own wife or someone else’s?” He did go on to answer the question, however

On 8th April 2016 R. Ashwin snapped at a journalist who asked him how he would counter the dew factor at the Wankhede ahead of his new franchise’s Rising Pune Supergiants’ opening IPL game at the same venue. The scribe suggested that Ashwin had struggled to bowl with the wet ball against West Indies in the recently concluded World T20 semis. Ashwin started with a "frame your question better" and then proceeded to give a curt reply. He even later confronted the journalist to find out the publication he represented.

After the Test series triumph against South Africa, Virat Kohli spoke out against criticism in the press -- "someone who hasn't played for the country has no right to comment on an international cricketer anyway" -- he had said.

well I am sorry but even cricketers have an opinion. If i am a cricketer and somebody asks me "do you like Harsha's commentary"

If my answer is "no i dont. i think he is not good anymore"

What exactly do you want cricketers to do? Lie? Not say what they are feeling?

There should be no issue if cricketers or Bachchan expressed their views. Harsha has been unfairly treated if cricketers or Bachchan rang up the BCCI and demanded Harsha be sacked. But ultimately the call rests with the BCCI.

What happened behind the scene, nobody knows... How would you know players rang up BCCI or not. What we do know is that there is a group of players led by Dhoni who are counter attacking any criticism (which Dhoni could be this attacking on field too) in public which is almost Pak Team like... And I know why these bunch of players are so defensive... They are pretty frustrated with the changes BCCI had recently and their clout is waning...

so whats the reason for Bachchan to "attack" Harsha?

India has thousands of media outlets. Each trying to get ahead in a highly competitive field. You try being in their position and have thousands of people take aim at you and make a living off it. MSD has every right to be critical of Harsha. He has his own opinion. As i said before, problem is with the BCCI that they decided to act on it.

@G_B_ first of all what AB wrote was extremely stupid. However he can be excused given that he being a casual follower doesn't understand how a globally watched channel's  commentators should operate.

Now any cricketer agreeing with AB would be even more stupid.

MSD quoting that and reaffirming looks really bad. It comes across as if he wants all the attention for himself.

That comes across in a very bad taste.

Reporter should have said "I'm comfortable with your wife, Suresh"

Seriously, these former CSK players have been behaving strangely with the media

Mahendra Singh Dhoni added,

Amitabh Bachchan @SrBachchan
T 2184 - With all due respects, it would be really worthy of an Indian commentator to speak more about our players than others all the time.

Most of the commentators do write articles for various media outlets and also their on-air view  definitely influence the mind of the viewers and the selectors, which may cause a player to lose his place in the squad.

So i see no difference why the opinion of the players should not influence the Board which decides the commentary team. As a commentator you cannot take your place granted, he can go back to the basics, improve on what he is lacking and comeback as a better commentator.

Common, In India no commentators opinion matters in team selection.....

They have all lost their mental bearings after the regime change in BCCI and the CSK ban.

Very unprofessional way to sack Harsha Bhogle in my opinion.  Here's his views on facebook:

I must confess I am a little uncomfortable with all the attention I have been getting recently. I am just a cricket commentator. I go to a cricket match, tell the story of what happened, look for joy within it if possible and come back feeling blessed to have had the opportunity. I tell the story, I am not the story.

I am, though, deeply moved by the messages I have got. I am overwhelmed that people who don't know me have taken the trouble to express their views on the matter. Young men and women who are my children's age have offered me advice. Famous people and simple cricket lovers have gone on public platforms. And I have been particularly touched by the people who say they don't rate me as a commentator but who speak out in my favour (that you may disagree with people but fight for their right to have an opinion was an attitude injected into me very early in life).

It is an incident that tells me how much we care for the game that we hold so dear.

I don't know what lies ahead. I have a contract with Star Sports with whom I share an excellent relationship. It is the reason why I don't have to do the IPL. I do it because I genuinely like the cricket on offer, I want to be part of cricket's laboratory to see what is brewing. It is a fantastic tournament.

I still don't know why I am not doing the IPL. I haven't been told. I can accept the fact that people don't like me. But I genuinely hope it isn't because cricketers have complained about what I have to say. I tell every young cricketer who cares to listen that we will never agree on everything but I will always desire that they do well; that I cannot stop them from scoring a run, or taking a wicket or holding a catch. Doing that is their job, telling the story of what they did, or didn't, is mine. Our paths will be strewn with admiration and disagreement. It is the nature of the job whether you are a university level cricketer or among the best there has been.

And, for heaven's sake, my greatest criticism is that I don't do enough of it. And when I do, my friend Prem Panicker isn't sure whether I have critiqued a player of proposed marriage!!

So, thank you very much. I love what I do and your words have been overwhelming.

But, I remain the teller of the story, not the story itself.

I fail to understand what they mean by talk more about Indian Players. Common dawg, he is a commentator and not a blow your own team's horn. He is suppose to be knowledgeable about other team and give insights to the viewers of both team irrespective of which country he is from. Very unfair for Harsha here ... he did his job.
