Austin 3:!6 Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Both look like 40+ year old geezers. It's a bit confusing when he says father and son. As fans we should respect their views even if they are lacking performances. As long as we reach semifinals in the up-coming CT, everything will be fine. Who are they? Shami is lacking in performance? He is the best seam bowler we have produced since Zak and has potential to become an even better bowler. Dhoni's performance is below par...agreed. kosingh Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Nobody like Munaf Patel when it comes to fudging age. Well, except several Pakistani players.
MCcricket Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Dear OP you are confusing personal with professional behavior, a good human being can be a horrible doctor, a genius could be eccentric, an asshole can be an over achiever? What does that prove ,what counts are his action regarding to nurturing, giving chance to youngsters which he rarely did n kept same team while loosing for years, is that professional or logical or stubborn or no accountability? A captain can be a good person but he doesn't give you enough overs or attacking fields or plays you enough coz he doesn't have the smarts to figure out how to use a pacer? A captain can be you room mate n talk nicely but he would then call his pacers as useless? A captain can be a decent person but want a fast bowler to slow down n bowl line n length but that doesn't fit your mould as an attacking Bowler n thus hamper your numbers n you get dropped. A captain might eat with you n attend your wedding but then he might tell the press do you want a fast bowler or a good bowler, lol Personal life n professional life are two different things, Dhoni has Saadgi, or simplicity like Azhar a village , rural person to begin with , he did well initially but then was to stubborn or not smart enough to learn how to play test cricket n captain in that format also how to build a side n make a strong team His mentality was like a Municipal worker, not thinking on his own or working hard to creat, develop, innovate, maybe he did not have that ability, no one is casting an aspersions on his personal behaviour but his professional thought process n attitude. rkt.india Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 (edited) http://m.espncricinfo.com/india/content Check this profile. His official age is shown as 21. He was a member of our club and I have bowled to him in net practice and that was 6 years back in 2010 and he was already about 19-20 back then. Six years down the line and he is still 21 while in real he is at least 25-26 right now. Since then he has played for J&K u19 and also made his Ranji debut for them. Ashwin was scoring runs in Australia but captain cool giving catching practice to slip cordon.
maniac Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 (edited) Who is the dad in this relationship? shami clearly has to take care of dhonis brittle fingers so had to ask Edited December 27, 2016 by maniac Ironhide and New guy 2
BeautifulGame Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Lol what a fan boy. Ashwin was scoring runs in Australia but captain cool giving catching practice to slip cordon. In the two tests both played in Australia in 2014 , (neither scored much but)Dhoni scored more than him and probably played one vital knock with that match saving partnership in Melbourne in that final overs .

Did you see how Sehwag and Akash Chopra made fun of Amit Mishra's age during commentary? You will hardly find a birth certificate for older players. Yes, current new gen of cricketers like Kohli who born and brought up in a metro would have their birth certificates. Though who knows even Kohli might be 31. When he played U19 WC in 2008, he did look older than a 19 year old. Mainly 10th class marksheet used to works as a proof of age and what they do is take 10th class exams again to reduce their age. I have seen this as I have been with a club. One boy from our club played for J&K U19 and then for J&K Ranji trophy team very recently while he was well past 19 years of age. here is the Mishra video. http://www.hotstar.com/sports/cricket/india-vs-new-zealand-2016/sehwag-guesses-mishras-real-age/2001900328 Cmon man you are generalizing a lot. Lets put this in perspective, by that logic Sachin retired at 44 and Zaheer was 35 in WC 2011. In current team Vijay is 35, Ashwin 33 and Yadav 32. Cricketics 1

There will be some exceptions who are their real age. Still age is just a number. its about how fit and athletic you are. you might be 25 but not fit enough. take examples of PK and Munaf Patel. You think they are as old as their official age suggests. If you have played any level of cricket, you will know how common age fudging is.

rkt.india Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 2 minutes ago, Sidhoni said: Yeah faking age is rampant in age group cricket but I doubt it carries upto international cricket. Yes, it does. The age you show at age group cricket will carry forward at every level of cricket you play. It's not like at u19 or 22, you show your age 18 or 20 and when you play international, you will start showing 25. I already gave an example above of a guy who played club cricket for our club and then played U19 for J&K while he was 24 in real and now his cricinfo profile shows 21 while he actually is 26. He has already made his Ranji debut for J&K last year and now he does well with the bat and keeps and selected for team India 3 years down the line, his official age will still be 24 but actual age would be 29.
BeautifulGame Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 I thought it was a figure of speech when people said Dhoni's fans were like Pakistanis but damn!!! Now mocking Sachin is like anti-national Some Sachin fans do go to desperate depth to be protective of their "God" Reminds me so much of blind followers of some political leaders in India .Can't even take slight criticism of them , even humourous ones lol
