Popular Post Ultimate_Game Posted January 7, 2017 Popular Post Posted January 7, 2017 Ever wondered why the supposedly "Bowling Powerhouse" with loads of "ferocious"and "beastly" "phaast" bowlers suddenly look so ordinary in the recent years, specifically near the turn of the century? Could it be coz the factory of "phaast" bowlers has suddenly dried up or is there some other reason behind the downfall? I came across this article on cricinfo and if you google you will come across various other sources which paint a similar picture. You be the judge after reading the article and various others similar to the one below... http://www.espncricinfo.com/magazine/content/story/259676.html Looks like the deadly combination of advent of neutral umpires and crackdown on ball tampering may be closer to the truth than lack of "kwaality phaast" bowlers. I'm sure give the current lot the bottle tops and Wahab "fastest spell to Watson without a wkt" riaz and Mohammed "ATG" Amir will suddenly look re-incarnates of Wasim & Waqar. Cricketics, Vilander, AuxiliA and 9 others 11 1
Popular Post New guy Posted January 7, 2017 Popular Post Posted January 7, 2017 Dont forget that the recent strict rules on chucking affected only one country the most. All other countries were hardly affected AuxiliA, express bowling, Vilander and 7 others 10

Everytime there's some sort of rule change or crackdown on enforcing the rules of the game it looks like there's only one team which is affected by the "kaanspiracy" New guy, tweaker and Ironhide 3

Is there still doubts regarding this?In those days the pioneer of tampering Mr:Khan could take the ball during breaks with the consent of PAK umpires and could do what ever he wanted. The result was that scorecards like 71 for 1 soon used to become 85 for 6 immediately after breaks with bottle topper Khan picking up 4 or 5 quick wkts in a heap. He passed on this legacy to his proteges the 2 Ws. Now poor Pakistani are getting belted all over the world due to their most significant ally 'the bottle cap' not able to assist them due to neutral umpires & multi cameras. Vilander, New guy, mishra and 3 others 6

The more discrepancy you see between the pre-ball tampering (before mid to late 90s) and post ball tampering periods (21st century), the more evident it becomes the real MVPs for "bowling paavarhouse" were bottle tops and home umpires. Ankit_sharma03 Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 1.So many camera to catch ball tempering 2. Defensive mindset 3.Lack of leader 4. Regressed domestic structure 5. Poor and impulsive system MCcricket and jalebi_bhai 2
BeautifulGame Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Or that they can't keep producing great bowlers without a proper domestic structure . Just attributing the success of Pakistan bowlers wholesomely to ball tampering reeks of pure bitterness . I am not old enough to have watched Imran, but Akram was simply genius with the ball.Someone par excellence .There is nothing dubious about his greatness as a bowler .Any suggestions that his greatness is based on ball tampering is ludicrous.Same with the likes of Akthar or Waqar to an extent .Just see the pace at which they bowled was that also tampered magically. SA has been regularly caught ball tampering in recent years , does that mean the greatness of Steyn is because of ball tampering.Nope.Same with their greats . tweaker, Mahaa Raavana, cowboysfan and 1 other 3 1

I'm not saying that's the ONLY reason but it's a very big reason. I mean give Wahab Riaz and Amir bottle tops and turn a blind eye to see the difference. Yes there were pretty good bowlers in Wasim and Waqar but the numbers were inflated due to the things mentioned in the article quoted in OP. After all the domestic cricket didn't change all that much and they didn't have talent drain WI have so how come the sudden drop off? Edited January 7, 2017 by Ultimate_Game

SA has been regularly caught ball tampering in recent years , does that mean the greatness of Steyn is because of ball tampering.Nope.Same with their greats . it is not about bitterness .I am one of those who had come across the situation of PAK defeating IND in IND in a home series in 1987.That time i felt so dejected .Even more so because of the strained relations with PAK. Then i tried to get solace from the fact that PAK were a better team and hence they won. And what not , became a great fan of Imran khan. But now when i realise that it was all due to tampering, my blood boils. Once admiration has turned to intense hatred towards this cheater Imran. No more do i consider him a top class all rounder. So it is not a matter of bitterness. If some body (even if your bitter enemy) wins over you by fair means you just appreciate it as your bad luck and moves on.But if you were cheated you can't simply appreciate that. It is not bitterness. And there are several out and out fast bowlers in the history of the game who proves that fastness alone is inadequate. You read them as a whole and you can get the extend of the unfair advantages of 'bottle caps' ravishingravi, chewy, Rightarmfast and 4 others 7

kosingh Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 One of the most significant victims of the country that has spiraled into utter desolation has been its once proud cricket establishment. Each new year marks another step back for Pakistan.

Silva Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Not to pile on. But 3 of their world Class bowlers got caught taking performance enhancing drugs (akhtar, yasir and asif.) Im surprised nobody mention this. If an indian player got caught taking them it would be mentioned every time they took a wicket or scored a run. Mystique_Myth, cowboysfan, Ironhide and 1 other 4

Malcolm Merlyn Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Poor domestic structure. Not much financial incentive.Plus present circumstances make sure that not too much of the famous Pakistani "unpredictability" is seen.
