Ravi Shastri was the coach/manager when rohit was drafted into the test team, coincidence? I think not, see even I can concoct stories about players like you  the comment about bumbai lobby wasn't a serious one anyway, but I do HATE the bumbai lobby, they overhype the mumbai players, if VK wasn't as good as he is, we would have seen tailunt sharma leading India in all three formats, sanju manju and ravi shastri will cry again the next time India plays in wankade without any mumbai player

Its a test against Bangladesh - nobody cares who plays -we should still pound them regardless.  

 

Now for the Oz series, its a legit question.  And its Rahane all the way.

Ajinkya should be an automatic selection for every match. He and Kohli are our top 2 batsmen. Rahul/Vijay/Pujara/Nair/Rohit/Dhawan and anyone new can compete for the other 3-4 spots. It's bizarre to want to replace Rahane, IMO.

I don;t know. Still not sure about Karun Nair's batting against moving ball outside off. I was turned off by the way he played against the Zimbabwe bowlers on his debut, how ever it's harsh to drop someone who has scored 300 in his previous innings. Personally, Rahane for long term but next couple of matches, Karun has to play.

Better for him to stay away from Hazlewood and Starc in this series if he wants to be picked in future test series. A return series or a return game against such bowlers is the last thing Rohit Sharma wants. It will be blessing in disguise for him if he sits out throughout the series.

Rahul's injury will automatically bring in Nair....so don't think there will be any hands on changes.

 

So pretty much the same X1 if I had to bet...if it's a bouncy/green top which is very unlikely then Bhuvi for Jayant or if it is a flat pitch then toss up between Bhuvi and Jayant.

Karun will come in place of Jayant.. On hindsight, they should have gone with a 7-4 combination this match... On such a raging turner, Ashwin and Jaddu should be enough to get wickets.. Could have gone with an extra batsman
