Yes, for this season BCCI should give a decent amount (like 2Cr) for Pujara and Shami (and ask him to fully recover ahead of CT).

Going forward as well BCCI should reward test specialists and injury prone players for not getting involved in IPL.

Good points

But Mr. Shastri IPL t20is Odis earns more for bcci then test matches , I know pujara is stellar in tests but he is pretty mush useless in t20is

But I liked Ravi shastris point though players like pujara and hard working workhorse like umesh and shami should be paid extra for there effort's , this will also encourage a player to put just that much of extra effort on the field

So what? If you become a crap test team sponsorship interest and IPL interest will also decrease.

Also it's not as if BCCI is scrapping for money. It's earnings are in thousands of crores, so rewarding performers is not going to cause any harm.

BCCI rewarded Shami monetarily as he was forced to miss the IPL due to his surgery which he had to undergo as he played through pain to represent his country in the WC 15.

I thought it was a good gesture.

Who forced Pujara to be test specialist? Why is everyone not so pragmatic? IPL earns money and it pays those involved accordingly. You want those play and earn.

Because Pujara has his limitations. He doesn't have that kind of game to suit T20s. It's not about being pragmatic but ability or lack of it. It's not like pujara didn't want to play LOIs but his game just doesn't suit LOIs.

If the situation becomes that you can earn big money only through IPL and T20 gigs, we will lose players willing to develop long format expertise. Our team will become like WI, good only in T20 format.

With the ever growing number of matches in a calendar year, we need some test specialists as well, similar to how we have LOI specialists.

Exactly and so does talentless youngsters who get paid highly  in IPL have limitations of playing different format. Test is rightly rated the better of the three format. But superiority complex of tests purists is nauseating. Why does that worthless idiot playing IPL gets paid more than my test specialist? Well because your test specialist has limitations to play it and test matches themselves dont earn much.So new solution suggested is subsidising test players through doles from board.:phehe:

No that won't happen. Also we need to find ways to make tests more interesting and financially more rewarding. Rewarding individual players is short term and even unfair strategy.

In summary

pujara stellar Indian test bat in ultimate format . Yet some young talentless pup in ipl will earn more then him

need to reward likes of pujara more . Test cricket is ultimate and incentive must be there

bcci needs to look at this and reward test stars

I've been saying this ever since IPL was first formed

That's not how things work. People pay you what the market is willing to pay for you. Reason Test stars earn less is coz the format doesn't earn money or even if it does, it earns substantially less than the shorter formats. Stars in the shorter formats are bound to earn way more than the Tests specialists and unfortunately that's what market forces dictate.
