Trichromatic
1. 98 against Pakistan in 2003 WC 2. 200 against SA first double 100 3. 143 desert storm 4.146 against SA 3rd test 2011 5. 175 against Aus in ODIs Those are not necessarily his best knocks for me. Link to comment
Austin 3:!6
That knock in Centurion was poetry in motion. He was treating Wasim, Waqar, Razzaq and Akhtar like club bowlers. Pure class. King Tendulkar 1 Link to comment
Cricketics
Desert storm is close to heart but I will take 98 in Centurion.. What a knock that was. You are taking about Wasim, Waqar and Shoaib against Sachin. I mean all the hype going to the game, and it lived upto it. Tendulkar was class apart. mishra 1 Link to comment
Ankit_sharma03
Dessert storm for me as that knock had certain arrogance written all over it......it was man who was on a diff level then others 175 was another top knock 200 was pure masterclass Link to comment
Rightarmfast
169 against SA in 96-97 in South africa and the 155 against SA in SA again, in 2001 were mind blowing. In ODI's. there's obviously a long list. Link to comment
putrevus
Centurion knock is overrated , Wasim and Waqar were done by then . Akthar was still evolving and he never was a great bowler. On top India was chasing a very modest total. 175 was best in his best in odis in my view , in draining heat he was lone warrior and he deserved to be on winning side that day but his team mates failed him.Desert storm hundreds come close too. Two hundreds in Chennai one against Pakistan and one against Australia were his best in tests. Link to comment

vvvslaxman
So many. His 82 runs in 49 balls. His first innings as an opener is still fresh in my memory. Those days such strike rates were unheard of. If he had failed there he probably may not have opened in the future. mishra 1 Link to comment

India was playing against Pak for the first time since Kargill war and the hype of that game was unparalleled. Sachin being the leading batsman was carrying the hope of billions and the pressure on him was immense. 279 was no way a modest total back then that too in SA conditions. In a world cup game against arch rivals with that kind of pressure playing such a knock while chasing was extra special. Our present Kuptaan Sahab can only dream of playing such an innings in pressure situation in big games. In fact, Sachin himself rated that Centurion knock was one off his best ever. I agree with your post except the bolded part. 1999 CWC group match was during Kargil conflict. We played them a few times in 2000 eg Asia Cup, Australia tri series, Sharjah etc. GoldenSun 1 Link to comment

Never seen such enthusiasm among all age groups before. Even the boring old guys who had no interest in anything were worried. I could hear fireworks in whole area. It was easily a very high pressure game for players from both sides. Link to comment

Our kaptaan played equally important innings let us not turn into comparison battle , this match had no consequence India was going to semis so it was not a must win match may be that is what allowed him to play that freely. Gollum
4th innings 100 in Chennai 2008 against England chasing down 387. Just after 26/11, amidst all the gloom that was a cracker of a test match and Sachin dedicating it to all Indians.......pretty sure being a Mumbaikar he was in terrible pain during that innings, might not have been his best quality wise but certainly my favourite. mishra and King Tendulkar 2 Link to comment

Rasgulla
100 that he got against manaic' s bangladesh in 2012.. That set us free from his tuk tuks forever after that. Other than that sharjah one in 1998 pretty good innings.. He tortured us 21st century with is another day discussion. Shaz1 1 Link to comment
