Always want 5 front line bowlers, allows them to continually bowl at full intensity and not give away freebies or allow comebacks. Hence selection of 5 batsmen is critical.

The problem is our keeper(Dhoni trolls incoming alert) is not a good bat despite being a gun keeper. Shami and Bumrah are a throwback to the 80s and even 70s with their batting.

 

It is too early to feel assured from someone like Pandya to deliver every time like a consistent batsman.

With Pandya, it only makes sense with 5 batsman. He can't play as a 4th bowler yet (as a specialist bowler). Unless he gets useless, whenever he is selected, we need to go with 5 bats,

Ashwin has developed a lot of bad habits in his batting. No one knows when he will score these days.

I am just hoping we stack up the team with the right bats and everyone chips in a bit in bowler friendly conditions and that proves to be enough for the team (if we had done that in the first test, we would have won with ease).

We know both Dhawan amd Rohit will play. Very lil chance of e ven just one getting dropped. So to strengthen our batting we can drop a pacer like Bhumrah.

Kohli, Rohit, Rahane, Sharma and Dhawan are the top bats for India.

 

Absolutely no doubt about it. Rahul is close but rest are not as good.

Well the only thing what hurting India now is a keeper who can bat like bairstow or kock.. Then we can play pandya at 7... Bhuvi and ashwin after him can hang around as well. That will give team a good balance
