Amir isn't fit enough or good enough for Test cricket. Guy bowls 138-145 kph in limited overs but in tests, he struggles to touch 140kph and usually bowls in the 130-135 kph zone. Ie, ask him to bowl more than 10 overs in a day and he runs out of gas. Atleast Akhtar bowled 5 overs at the beginning of his spells at top speed before cutting back due to his poor fitness.

I won't target Amir's speeds here, Hadlee bowled 77-83 mph speeds during the later half of his career when he was taking wickets by bucket loads. For a bowler to be good at tests he needs to bowl marathon overs to understand his bowling first, Amir's 5 year gap had an impact on his skill set and now when he is not living up to the wicket taking machine hype, he's getting impatient.

For a bowler to be good at tests he needs to bowl marathon overs to understand his bowling first, Amir's 5 year gap had an impact on his skill set and now when he is not living up to the wicket taking machine hype, he's getting impatient.

Akhtar bowled quick whole day. His pace rarely would go below 140 eveb if it is end of the day if that is getting slowed down then most bowlers are slow.

I meant from HIS top speed. Akhtar would bowl the first few overs of the day at low 150s/high 140s, then slide down to low 140s for the rest of the day.

we should always target ghost eating pak players physical vulnerabilities and inabilities and expose them thread bare. Its a noble cause.

it is impossible for anyone to bowl in 150s whole day. Akhtar is probably the quickest bowler ever in both aspects top speed and average speed since the advent of speed guns in cricket.
