Test team seems decent, but why Mukund? Guy is proven failure as batsman and fielder at the international level. They should have taken someone like Shaw/Chaudhury/Gill instead. Similarly, not sure if Jayant Yadav needed to be tried since we already have a fair idea of his skills at the international level - a younger, untried spinner would have been good. Rest of the team is fine, except Nair/ Chatterjee - Shankar should have been chosen instead.

In ODIs, would have preferred to see Kishan in the squad, perhaps in place of Nair. Absence of Nathu Singh in both squads is very baffling as well.

Fair selection.

2nd ODI: Aug 24 in Dambulla (Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium) at 2:30 PM (IST)

3rd ODI: Aug 27 in Pallekele International Cricket Stadium at 2:30 PM (IST)

Excellent teams overall

Good job by selectors

Just 3 issues --

1) Why no Pant in the 4-day game team  ?

2) Why no Shankar in the 4-day game team  ?

3) Why no Nathu in any team  ?

Pant might himself in the team for SL tour.

Nathusingh may be injured or he may be in contention for selection.

Shankar should have been in the test squad.

Pant may be in the squad for the SL series

Selectors have picked good squads. But its shocking that Aaron is not there in test squad that too for a tour in SA and Nathu not getting picked is baffling too.

Aaron seems to have disappointed Kohli for some reason

It was a bad sign when he was dropped from RCB.

Rarely one can say this. Excellent selection.

Not complaining but few doubts:

1)Why Jayant in OD? He offers nothing.

2)Why not Nathu in OD in place of Kaul.

Rest is perfect. :clap2:

Good squad... Looks like siraj is one good series away from the national reckoning.  Is shardul thakur in India squad?

These selectors have received a lot of flak but these are easily the best A teams in a long time.

They have identified the right players for the right formats

No trundlers.... no passengers.... almost all the talked about players selected

A shame they cant do this for the main team, which has let indian cricket down
