1) Why no Pant in the 4-day game team  ?

 

2) Why no Shankar in the 4-day game team  ?

 

3) Why no Nathu in any team  ?

pant- Coz it will clash with Odi series against sl, means he ll be selected there

Nathu non selection is baffling

You can't nitpick a lot here...Sure we can discuss  1-2 players who missed out and analyze and dissect in various ways but for the most part 9.5/10 for the selectors here.

Any word on if these games are going to be broadcast.  Would be 100x more interested in watching these games over the India-West Indies series.

Nice to see selectors so high on pacers who has genuine pace and other skill sets, deeply satisfying to see MD siraj thakur and thampi in India A squad.

Lookig forward to Aniket and Ankit bowling.  Hopefully they will do well. Our bats always do well or somehow manage to score but our bowlers doing well will be fun to follow.

I like the ODI team:  Thampi,  Siraj, Shardul Thakur, Siddarth Kaul. All players that need to be tried. 

 

I'm not sure why Nathu isn't in the Test team.

Great team selection Selectors deserves applause here.
Except for nathu selection rest of the debates are just matter of personal choice.
On merit selectors are spot on, if nathu is injured I'll give 10/10.

^ cant say 10/10  @SUMO . Selectors have done a good job, considering their past goof-ups.

But that's coz the bar is so low - when it comes to selection coz of past screwed up selections.
We feel more relieved.

 

But still a few qns remain as mentioned in the thread on some spots.

I don't think they have done any glaringly poor selection and I'm willing to applaud them going a bit overboard because previous selection have baffled me in the past.
Herwadkar vs sudip, vohara/tripathi vs mandeep, jayant vs someone else are valid points for debate but its too close to call or criticize them.
Only 1 complaint I have is of nathu singh...if he was fit but not selected in place of kaul I wll give 9/10
