Just the way he bats. Dont have a logical argument on why i feel that way but that said i also never felt sehwag would succeed as an opener. We all know what he has achieved so all the best to iyer.

Not convinced as to why Rohit needs to be replaced and Dhawan doesn't. Their ages, records and flashiness are all similar. I don't think Pant is a fit at 6 either. No.s 4-6 look very shaky.

He started well, 20 of first 11 balls but then suddenly became too anxious and scored 3 runs in next 10 balls.

He started hacking instead of playing proper cricketing shots. He should have rotated the strike and let Kohli take the burden for an over or two.

Played square cut well . No other good shots in this knock . Struggled after bright start 

 

game one . Of course more time and gets better . Want him in odi team so can spend proper time in middle and develop 

 

in fact debuts for any players in t20 format is not ideal frankly

His weakest format, there is no time to think. He should have been tried in other formats first.

Shreyas looked very comfortable and dominating against the quicker bowlers. Played the cut fiercely.   I like that.

 

He wasn't fluent against the slower bowlers but has tackled spinners well in FC.

 

His strokes had the punch needed in international cricket.

 

Overall ..... encouraging signs so far.

his running  between the wicket needs improvement although most of it can be attributed to nerves.

Clearly has all the tools, just needs to to get leaner, spend more time in the middle and hold his nerve
