velu
Quote Hardly anyone knows that once Sachin Tendulkar didn’t want to face him in a test match. In a television news program, Navjot Singh Sidhu said that when he and Tendulkar were playing against the West Indies at Port of Spain in 1997, Tendulkar was feeling uncomfortable to play some balls bowled by Ambrose near his rib cage area and then Tendulkar asked Sidhu to face as many deliveries as he can during that bowling spell from Ambrose. http://www.cricages.com/columns/riteshs-cover-drive/curtly-ambrose-–-the-man-of-dream-spells/ beetle and Cricketics 2 Link to comment

rtmohanlal
Nevertheless the man would have scored a 100+ had he not been run out.Captaincy also was a burden for him at which he was never so natural at the first place. And would have got another 100+ had he been not given out of a big no ball on 92 of Bishop's bowling at Barbados. But then Ambrose was such a nasty bowler who on his day would make any batsman uncomfortable at the crease. bsriharsha
Probably one odd occasion where he wasn't comfortable. Nothing wrong with that. I remember seeing sachin handling Ambrose pretty well in other occasions.Nothing to read here. Sent from my Lenovo A7020a48 using Tapatalk Link to comment

NameGoesHere
Over the next decade I believe there won't be a single contemporary bowler left undiscovered who didn't make Tendulkar's legs go shaky shaky achy braky. Laaloo 1 Link to comment

vvvslaxman
I think the story i talked about years back in the ICF except for one difference. It was Rahul Dravid who covered for Sachin not Sidhu. maniac and velu 2 Link to comment
Rightarmfast
If Shane Warne could get nightmares of Sachin, nothing wrong in Sachin being uncomfortable against Ambrose, Walsh, Akram, Mcgrath, Akhtar. These were top notch bowlers. What made Sachin great was, despite all these challenges he still walked on, took the challenges. Gollum, King Tendulkar and Ankit_sharma03 3 Link to comment
vvvslaxman
Yes he may have had his discomfort. Personally if i can say one bowler who had slight edge over Sachin , that was Alan Donald. Other legendary fast bowlers i would give 50/50 atleast. Link to comment
