How many warm up matches of the sort I suggested did they play before setting off for the tour?May be one or most probably 2.That's not at all enough.Minimum of 5 to 6 such matches needed to have played in the most fastest of pitches and seam conditions in India. But,despite  having all the facilities, they didn't do that, which is the most unfortunate thing.

On a side note, never expect much from this BCCI and the core, one will get only disappointed. When money is all that matters, such results are the order, any way.

Humare Kaptaan Ki Shaddi Hai!

“The BCCI had offered Indian team management that the core group of Test team can be sent to South Africa early. Players like Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane are not part of limited-overs cricket and were playing local cricket here. The BCCI was ready to bear the cost, but team management showed no interest and declined the offer,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

“We were even ready to let top players skip One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 (T20) legs of the series against Sri Lanka.”

Kaptaan is only serious about 6 packs and fitness, he doesn't give a hoot about preparation. I hope Shahstri gets sacked after this series, as coach isn't someone who can teach these players how to play. But, he is very important person when it comes to team selection, practice matches and making decisions such as this one.

I would say Kohli should also be sacked if this series turns out to be a disaster, the guy is a horrible captain.

The Captain and his cheerleader.

This is why Shastri should have never been made Team India coach.

What can a coach do against the captain’s wish when he himself is in the job bcos of captain? We all saw what happened with Kumble. The coach is a mere PR puppet.

Flock of headless chicken to put simply.  Though BCCI doesn't come clean in scheduling and preparing an itinerary, team India management is equally responsible for lack of preparation & proper acclamatisation.

Coach & support staff, test regulars-you must be ashamed of your loose &  lackadaisical attitude towards such an important overseas tour.
