Solid bowler was averaging 50 on flat tracks in 2017 before one good series. Did nothing after that again

Does not help if you slip fielder drop 10-12 catches a series.

Bhuvis catches were dropped too. Excuses

Time to replace him with Umesh in next match. Ideally, Umesh should have played this match as he is a solid test bowler on flat tracks. Next match won't be on a flat track. SA have planned it smartly.

Umesh is useless

And people were asking for his inclusion in all formats :argh:

Ive always said he has fitness issues and is best suited for Only for format - Tests

Shami seems to be one of those bowlers who does well at home, but is not good outside.

In sub-continent, Shami's bowling average is 23. Outside SC, his bowling average swells to over 37. Clear case of ability to bowl only in home conditions. There have been many Indian pacers who are only good in SC before, so not surprising.

Can't judge like that. Last tour Shami was nowhere as good.

Now Shami is unfit.

If he is unfit, why is he playing? There is no record of him being unfit before this match or during this innings. What injury does he have? When he bowls badly why do you assume he is unfit or "nowhere as good"?

When a 140 bowler bowls crap, he sprays.

He doesn't start trundling out of the blue, then bowls a few overs with pace and then trundles.

That alone is enough to tell us that he isn't 100%.

Now Kohli has to answer why he picked him.
