It's fashion these days to hype people up.. Before him it was Samson.. Since he is nowhere near the sceme of things its Pant now.. Tomorrow they ll find someone else :flute:

Fact: when dhoni was 19, he was selling tickets at kharagpur railway station :hysterical: and here is guy smashing the fastest 100 in t20, its high time now, if he repeats half of this peformance again  he wll kick out dhoni from t20 and if he got into our t20 side thn get ready for some teary farewell for dhoni :hysterical:

We want Samson too. He can play as a batsman and Pant can keep as Pant is a better keeper. Samson scored 175 runs at an SR of 144 in SMA trophy. These two guys will be our T20 and ODI backbone in years to come.

You guys keep ignoring that all these performances are as openers . Look at all the batsmen in radar , most of them are openers . It's not a coincidence , it's just ridiculously easy to open in lois these days . So I would only consider players with out of the ordinary skills than just stats .

Am not saying they are not good players , but where will you fit these guys in the Indian team ? You select them and try to fit in the Indian middle order , it won't work.

We want everyone but neither Samson or Pant ll make it right now. Can we live in reality... Iyer was highest scorer for Ranjis 2 yrs back and he had Brillant scores last year aswell. Key = consistency

Pant have scored runs in middle order in IPL. Anyway, top 3 are the best place to bat on in LOIs. For middle order we have other players likes of Nitish Rana, Hooda, Sarfaraz who are doing well in middle order.

And how do you define Solid. :giggle:

Someone with a decent technique, has a wide range of strokes, has both attacking and defensive game, can adapt to various formats of the game etc.

Most talent that make it to the top fulfill these necessities. In Pant's case though, people are getting their panties wet over a one-dimensional slogger.

You want all that from a wkt keeper batsman.....the pure batsmen will have to be out of this world.
