We have seen this right from the WI tour 2016 when Vijay and Che had convenient niggles just to accommodate Dhawan and Rohit. Kohli in his captaincy stint (T20s, ODIs and Tests) has shown enough evidence of being a feckless crook. No wonder so many sports journalists on social media, including veterans brushed off the stupid niggle excuse card. Saha is a quiet shy person, he will never speak out publicly or make a drama out of this thing, that's how humble chaps from Siliguri roll. Yes, Wriddhiman is originally from Shilliguri, but his cricket development was largely based in Kolkata. Also, after Saha came in to the Ranji side, Ganguly was one of the first to appreciate his keeping skills and push for more recognition of Saha's talents. In fact, his backing played some part in making Saha second in rank to Dhoni. (Incidentally, in tests, Dhoni's role was apparently more Mike Brearley than anything else. If he had been a bit better at batting, he could have played as a specialist batsmen, leaving the keeper's spot for an actual keeper like Saha) Ganguly was also influential in getting Saha into the KKR side in the first few IPL seasons. Again, his move to CSK was one of the worst things to happen to Indian cricket. If the IPL century and MoM performances had come closer to when he was 25 than 30, people would not have been able to turn a blind eye to his batting so easily. Gollum 1
