DK is the only legitimate comparison to Saha in test wicket keeping so this comparison makes sense, unlike some other inane comparisons we've had here. Saha's wicket keeping is much ahead of DK (Saha is probably the best glovesman in world cricket at the moment), but DK is no doubt a better batsman. 

 

I personally regard wicket keeping as a specialized job so would any day prefer Saha (he's no mug with the bat), but won't lose any sleep if Karthik plays as well.

Saha is like luxury car.We cannot afford him in overseas tests with 5 bats and pandya.
Specialist wicketkeepers are thing of past.
We surely need a good batsman WK and right now only DK can fill that position.
This I am not saying just on the basis of 1 T20 inning.DK has good technique.Saha can't hold bat outside India.

Mathematically, we have clear benchmarks when it comes to batting and wktkeeping in tests. On a scale of 10, with 10 being the highest:

 

Batting: Kohli. Score 10

Wkt keeping: Saha. Score 10

 

Test Batting  score relative to Kohli:

Karthik 8

Saha 6

 

Overall, Saha is 16. Karthik will have to score at least 8 in keeping to be considered, with Ind willing to let go of a “10” in keeping (I.e. drop two points in a specialist position to gain 2 in a relatively general, as there are 5 specialist batsmen already, position)

 

While for a batting position in top 5, he can be considered relatively easily vs those less than 8 or the 8s that are not in great form 

 

Tricky decision ....

Saha wont do that bad with bat against Eng bowlers , i fear for his batting Against SA n aus attacks 

In eng Wk is crucial as the ball moves really late , so saha will have a huge role but he ll be under tremendeous pressure from karthik. 

Karthik is a better batsman n has done well as opener in england, karthik offers a lot more options and saha just Wk......Saha needs runs to save his place specially when our team is looking at playing 5 bowlers

Yup> If Saha drops even a single sitter he will be under hot seat.  Or it can go another way. He can both keep and bat well. But overall he should bat well given India's team make up. It will be 5 bowlers 5 batsmen. 1 keeper. So his role is very vital.

Karthik dives farther than Saha. Just that sometimes he overdoes it. Unlike Parthiv Patel who won't go for it even if the ball is one foot away from him, KKD will go for it.  Dhoni is also not a great diver against fast bowling. He is a terrific keeper against spin. Saha is an average keeper against spin. Karthik of late I don't see any issues. But when he was a regular, he had severe concentration issues. To summarize Karthik can be better than Saha and also worse than Parthiv in the same match. That was his problem. If that problem is not there anymore I am okay with him keeping. It will give a tremendous option for Kohli. Also, top order will bat with a relaxed mind.

Saha is very consistent and has no lapses...who cares if Karthik is more athletic...no doubt in terms of talent Karthik is a better bat but Saha right now has done nothing wrong to be dropped...it was a punishable offense when he got replaced by Pappu of all people even though he was technically “niggled”

How can you say Saha is average against spinners? I've seen him and he is very good. Probably not as good as a stumper as dhoni, but he matches him in every other category.

He fluffed few stumpings. Very simple ones. Karthik is definitely better there.

O please . Karthick glove work is horrid but that’s fine in white ball cricket 

 

Saha glove work is best in world
