gakgupta
How well has be bowled here....on an other day he would have got 2 more wickets.... He has improved big time and he is an allcondition bowler... Does he still deserve HTB? Sent from my Lenovo A7020a48 using Tapatalk raki05, AK007, Stradlater and 1 other 4 Link to comment

velu
I can't comment just by checking at the espn scorecard .. but i guess he sealed his placed for the next 4 tests Link to comment
R.D forever
Not surprising. He is a diff bowler and just needs a chance to prove his credentials outside subcontinent. He was pretty good in SA too better than Maharaj. 4 wickets on first day in England. What more do u need from ur spinner? The Dark Horse 1 Link to comment

WeStMiDz
Is it me or he's developed some subtle variations? So subtle that we have pros like Bhajji and Ganguly calling everything that isn't an offspinner, a carrom ball Link to comment
Popular Post Gollum
I noticed the change in the SA series itself. But for many ICFers even if he gets MOS here, perception won't change because bias is ingrained deep inside them where they can't tolerate a bowler superseding the top batsman in Indian cricket hierarchy. Saw similar treatment meted out to Kumble, our MVP of the 90s and early 2000s and this trend won't change. Many Indian fans will generally feign support to bowlers but the moment the bowlers get close to surpassing the status of the superstar batsmen the insecurities will creep in. Indian fans and the wider public will never want the sudras to challenge the upper caste of Indian cricket. 10 years from now when Pant/Shaw/Gill and Kuldeep are in direct competition, history will repeat itself, it is almost as if Indians are embarrassed to have high performing bowlers. We need an attitudinal change. We moan and cry about not having ATG bowlers but when we do get gems, we throw them under the bus the moment they fail. Batsmen get unlucky with howlers, excuses are made for next 3 generations. Bowlers get unlucky with dropped catches, people develop Alzheimer's and try to find new ways to present stats and insult the poor fellas. 1983 WC, 1985 BH, 2011 WC, 2013 CT-> we won because of bowlers stepping up...batsmen were sub-par Dark eras of 90s-> we lost not because Kumble/Srinath were mediocre but because the esteemed batting unit failed to justify its reputation overseas. 2015- now-> we are world no 1 riding on the back of our bowlers, especially Ash-Jaddu. Yet see the amount of hate for them on this forum. They failed in ODIs a year back, yet that is dug up to undermine their test credentials today. They had a great role in winning 10 matches but no let us focus on the 1 match they failed to win. They won x number of MOMs, MOS...oh but they are HTBs. But when batsmen wins MOS, who cares where it came? This is the same country where an ODI 100 against Bangladesh gets more coverage and fawning than a test 10fer...clearly catering to the low IQ Indian fans, a subset of which can be found even on the internet. vvvslaxman
Wonder how well his county stint helped him. Duke ball helps him more than kookaburra balls. Still he is a different beast with SG balls. Gollum 1 Link to comment
ThePhenomenal1
He is upping his game and he knows there is competition so it drives him. If he performs well with the bat then the sky is the limit in this series. We need ashwin to go on and take india ahead in the series. only positive about DK's dropped catch is that ashwin could get his 5th wicket which usually drives him to go big in the later games. vvvslaxman
I saw the highlights. Is he bowling seam-up deliveries in between? The one that got Broad was not a spinning delivery. It just rushed onto Broad. This is where his thinking helps. As much as his over-thinking hurts him, it can help him as well if he has the right ideas against right batsmen. Link to comment
Trichromatic
If he does well in this series, he will start his walk towards ATG status. 500 wickets at avg < 25 and few good overseas performances. Link to comment
