Which is not fine for one player it's ok to bash him for the other it's not.

Tired of saying that for years now. Dhoni sucked as Test captain but the hatred here is just out of some agenda. And on top of it they even encourage more n more hatred.

So you mean Dhoni took away chances from youngsters like Umesh, Aaron, Bhuvi, Shami, etc and gave to RP singh? How many games did RP singh played under Dhoni?

If you can't see anything wrong in this then I won't bother digging your head firmly buried in sand.

Just laugh and move on. Trust me. It's not worth the effort.

I have my theory with Dhonis failure in England. When Indian won world cup in 2011, we had ATGs like Sehwag, Dravid,Laxman,Tendulkar and world cup Hero Gambhir.

All of them except Dravid failed miserably in England and then in Australia. Then at home in India too.

Now, Any captain with whatever calibre, How could he be able to drop those legends without giving them ample opportunity.

Please note, apart from Tendulkar every one retired was equal to dropped. In fact Tendulkar was allmost pushed. People say Laxman and MSD still dont talk to each other.

Least we could do is  give credit to MSD for that.

So OP is right. Dhoni did gave Kohli a team without any baggage of past. And Kohli screwed it with his chopping changing style. There hasnt been a single test series under Kohli, where he has played same team in match 1 and match 2. So first 2 test are whwre he decides what team to play the series with.

Captain Kohli’s achievements:

- Fighting and removal of coach Kumble
- Chopping and changing the team for no reasons
- Selecting stop-gap players instead of giving youngsters chances

- Biggest loss ever in an ICC final
- Fake aggression which mostly involves screaming like a little B whenever the opposition loses a wicket

Have I missed anything?

Yes, bowling first in CT final, if reports are to be believed Kumble wanted to bat first but the chase master had other plans!

Agree with everything except this part. This same team lost badly in Dhoni's second round of SENA tours so there was some baggage. The excuse back then was that this was their first round of SENA tours. By the time Dhoni was done, we were down to 7th in the rankings. Their morale was quite low.

Problem with Kohli is that he has surrounded himself with idiotic yes men who believe pseudo-bravado will win you games. His selections have been baffling at times and the current specialist batsmen have regressed to the point that it seems like that they've forgotten how to bat. Don't get me started about our alcoholic coach. Bewda is just there to massage Kohli's ego.

Kohli replaced MSDs bowling lineup . No one would have stopped him replacing batting lineup.

Allthough Dhawan Rohit were exception. They hot backing from every quarter.

He has somewhat changed the bowling line up. Bhuvi, Shami, Umesh, Ashwin and Jaddu are still there. Ishant is a Kumble era player.

Batting wise, only Karun has debuted. I know it's fashionable to bash these batsmen atm, but most of them should be in their prime now with the exception of maybe Vijay.  Instead they've regressed.

The problem with this group is that they are kings in the subcontinent but bottlers abroad. And I've never heard of any team having two different line-ups in Test match cricket, one at home and one overseas.

Ok this is where i feel how much can a do in such situation

During dhoni-

During 2011- if those seniors went on dip at same time a capatin cud hardly do much , not denying he himself was a poor captain but his team also becmae poor

Now during Kohli

Dhawan, vijay , rahul, pujara, rahane, karthik all have failed miserably.........what can captain do

About giving players insecurity - well somewhat yes he kohli is to be blamed

But someone like pujara bought it on himself , vijay himself hasnt been consistent either

I blame coach more here as its his job to prepare the team and give it to captain. Ofcourse kohli was the one who got him

Yea but it scraes me that we are on edge of rebuilding a team and kohli is not the guy u want as captain during rebuilding

But again going after the captain is also like finding an easy answer.....

yes its about finding the right talent and backing him but pujara, rahul, rahane, ishant , umesh themselves have been very avg n inconsistent.......so when ur core team is has so much limitation this was bound to happen against the excellent anderson n broad

Not really , its the same set of bowlers . Only Bumrah is new .

We still depend on the spinners even overseas like we did during Dhonis captaincy .

It was PK BK Jaddoo Zakk and Ash.

First choice pacer was anyone bowling under 125k, if u have pace more than that, u were automatically placed in selection in injury list
