rkt.india
England will score big. Mark my words. We have already lost this game by not getting a big lead, from 100/2 to 195/8. needed a lead of at least 150 runs here. Pitch is flat now. jf1gp_1
If Kohli scores then maybe 175 if he doesnt then 120. So we need to get england out for under 200 and then hope kohli gets a few runs. Link to comment
Vk1
This game is still in the balance. Remember English batting is weak. Hope we don't allow their lower order to score again. Link to comment

goose
They have a strong lower middle order that will be unshackled from scoreboard pressure. We do not. Pant or Pandya need a 70 to see us home. Link to comment
SUMO
England will get 400-500 here...cook and root will come in form this time. Happened in 2011 as well similar situation and eng ran away in 3rd innings. Our pacers will have to ball 25-25 overs that will have an effect on 5th test as well... So this innings is crucial otherwise 4-1 is inevitable Link to comment

philcric
Two factors .. 1) India has been a very poor 4th innings batting team for many years now. 2) Pressure. This is arguably the most crucial innings for this test team. Both in terms of actual results and also public perception of the team in overseas SENA tours. A win here will give the team a lot of confidence and leverage going forward. A loss here can totally deflate them. That's why it was so frustrating to see them let go of dominant positions on both the days. From here, they have to play out of their skins to win this one. Lannister 1 Link to comment
philcric
If the target is anything more than 200, I'll make one strategic punt with the batting order .. Have one of the late middle order batsmen (Pant/Pandya/Ashwin) bat at #3 purely to counter attack and not build an innings in a conventional way. Strengthen the middle order with your two most in-form batsmen in Pujara at #4 and Kohli at #5. The idea is to take the game as deep as possible. Dhawan Rahul + Pant (Or Pandya or even Ashwin) Pujara Kohli Rahane Pandya Ashwin Ishant Shami Bumrah Link to comment

nevada
The max this team can chase is probably 120 runs. Even 175 is a tricky target as a collapse can occur as soon as the first wicket falls. Pujara has kept the series alive, let's see if the bowlers can take inspiration from this and give the batters a smaller score to chase. Link to comment
Stutter
I expect two or three from the England line-up to fire and I believe they will get to 250-260. The runs added during the Pujara-Bumrah last wicket partnership will prove to be crucial. We should be able to chase down 230. Link to comment
flat_wicket_bully
What can we chase? Around 150 What will we be chasing? 350-400 Link to comment
CG
With Pujara and Kohli in form We can Chase 200. Link to comment
Stan AF
100-130 maxx. Anything else depends on a near 100 score from any one of the batsmen. Link to comment
Sonix768
Anything under 250, we can chase easily provided we dont treat Ali as muAli. Link to comment
