Which middle order batsmen are knocking on door in domestic cricket?

It seems as if all the good upcoming batsmen are ones that bat in the top 3 for their domestic side.

Rahul, Shaw, Gill, Pant, Iyer, Agarwal etc. Are all top order batsmen.

Where are the middle order options? Which domestic middle order specialist is ready to break into India’s ODI team?

Pant & Iyer are MO  batsmen.

Most probably Mayank & Gill will have to adapt to MO  to have a chance .

From what I saw with Gill, he looks like a proper middle order batsman. He strikes at a good rate and most of his runs come without boundaries. You have 21 Odis before the world cup. Give me this team.

Rohit

Dhawan

Kohli

Rahul

Gill

Pant

Pandya

Jadhav

Bhuvi

Kuldeep

Bumrah

This is a good batting line up. The only problem is we will need pandya to bowl full quota overs and someone else to share the 10 overs with jadhav. Not sure who else bowls though.

We need batters 4 to 6.

Rahul, Shaw, Pant, Mayank, Iyer and Gill ... all have thd game to bat at No.4 in ODIs ... the first five can bat at No.5 too.

Ability to play both spinners and pacers in ODIs ... rotating strike ... stroke play and occasional big shots ... all qualities are there in these six.

Pant and Rahul have the game to bat at No.6 even.  Especially Pant.  Requirements being ability to start scoring from the beginning and play big shots regularly.

I would prefer to focus on some of the first five for  trying in our ODI middle order for the time being.

Rahul doesn't have the mentality LOL - else why do you think he doesn't get a chance ?
It's all about politics.

I feel like post 2019 - Gill will supersede him for that position.

Pant n Gill are 2 special talents

also i dnt like fixing someone at a slot, its not u cnt shift a position of someone like rahul

Mayank n Iyer- m not very convinced with them

Shaw is another special talent

rest the likes of hooda, rana, kishen, samson are all good talents but as of now i dnt wanna put them in special category as something is off about them to me .....may be temperament or its to early to say . Still ill put them one category below Pant, Gill, Rahul , Shaw

Krunal is not a special talent like his brother, but he is a good utility cricketer whom i wud like in this mix

I still think Kohli needs to bat at 4 and play more of an anchor role from now on. Rahul can bat at 3 imo. Kohli's strength is his exceptionally good strike rotation and he can make sure that the run rate doesn't fall behind. It would give Rohit,Dhawan and Rahul to attack the new balls and play their strokes. Pant in for the late order hitting. This would massively improve our lineup.
