Maybe they haven't been as vocal as Ganguly - but Ganguly had a pre-existing feud with Shastri already.  Makes it easier for him to be vocal.  Just because the well-wishers of Indian cricket may not want to air out dirty laundry in public, doesn't mean they are unanimously supportive of Shastri.

Dada was part of the coach selection committee only to be overruled by the other two.. The record over last 1 year hasn't been stellar either.

 

Maybe if gavaskar was as brave as Dada in being the seniormost statesman & criticking the team's record in the way it deserves to be

Too little too late. He should have resigned from his post from committee after such last year. That would have caused some issue given public was already not happy with Kumble getting booted.

We have selected a coach who was commentator, had no previous coaching experience. How he got the job is actually a concern coz he was neither a great batsman or bowler to begin with. but ye he seems good at something which others are not i guess.

Gary Kirsten had no coaching experience before being made Team India coach, nor had Kumble or Dravid.  Some other great coaches were themselves not great players. Those are not pre-requisites for being a good coach.

 

Shastri's biggest problem is he's become a cheerleader rather than a coach. And that is not helping the captain at all who now has a free run.
