“I want to sit down with my counterpart at the BCCI and see if I can improve that relationship. But the complications go far beyond cricket and will require changes in thinking,” Khan was quoted as saying by the International Cricket Council (ICC) website.

“I’d like to see Pakistan players welcomed into the IPL.That would be a big step,” he added.

Khan will also attempt to convince Australia to play some games of their upcoming tour in the country. “I need to sit down with other boards and ask them: where are the gaps in our plans that worry you?” he said. “What can we do to assure you? What do we need to persuade you to come back? I want to hear what concerns they have and find a way of meeting them.

“We have international stadiums. We have a great passion for the game. If we can get more foreign players coming to Pakistan more often, hopefully we can normalise playing in the country again.”

International cricket has started to return to Pakistan, with a World XI and the West Indies playing T20I series in the country in recent years. The Pakistan Super League has also seen games played in the country, and the number of PSL games played at home is only set to increase.

“As things stand, there will be eight games in the next PSL played in Pakistan. We hope the number of foreign players coming to Pakistan will gradually increase and they will pass on their positive experiences to their team-mates.”

You can say all the right things but as he himself acknowledges complications are beyond cricket where i dont see him finding much success.

The late ABV gave them Lahore bus but they gave us Kargil, we brought Pak players to IPL 1 but they gave us Mumbai, then we had "aane do" series followed by Pathankot & what not! I say FU to that nation & their duplicity, I know they'll being "Jadhav" into this but he's not even been proved as a spy let alone terrorist! I hope we don't play them ever again, if it brings (temporary?) peace to India

On one side ,does harm to India in what ever aspect it might be  whether it is  in cricket like MOU etc etc,   or be in national security . And immediately after that  begs for Indian favour   in cricket related matters. And this cycle goes on.

I don’t see anything wrong with what he said from the article. Just diplomatic stuff by an official which is alright.

IPL is doing just fine without them. Personally I have no problem with Pakistani players in IPL but bilateral is an issue for me.

That ranking is a result of playing a shitton of games against faltu teams that too in crappy UAE.  To be honest, which "top" pakistani players are really world class in T20?  Their batting is **** and all depends on tukkeybaaz Zaman.  Rest aren't top shelf batters by any stretch.  It says a lot when Shoaib Malik who debuted last millenium is considered your best T20 batsman.  Even on the bowling front, Abbas is a test specialist.  Rest aren't anything spectacular.  There are no Rabadas, Dale Steyns, ABDV or even Rashid Khans who are missing from the IPL.

This is a very democratic forum. I have so many disagreements but by and large I am still tolerated(not liked). Freedom of speech is the first criteria in a forum and that green forum fails miserably.
