jf1gp_1
Sehwag - move rohit one down, kohli at 4. We then have a bowling option as well and no rayudu velu 1 Link to comment

I'd have Bumrah & Zak open the bowling and play Shami & 1 spinner initially. I picked Zak since he was the best new & old ball bowler I have seen play for India. The 2003 team had an in form pace trio which can be ramped up further with this idea. Dravid in my opinion was more flexible on batting position, Sachin preferred opening. Sachin is obviously a better batsman/bowler but I feel Dravid can contribute at least equally @ 4/5 when in form. Ganguly is the bigger misfit of my picks in the current team since he was also a solid opener and not keen on middle order. I assume he could get team selection in shape but it may go haywire in another direction as well. Link to comment

chewy
Zaheer Khan Bumrah + Zaheer - you got pace, miserly, Yorker specialists and ability to pick wickets in PP. And also in his prime Zaheer was handy with the bat. Still not found quality left arm quick after the cluster of Zaheer, Nehra, RP Singh, Irfan Rohit, Dhawan, Kohli, Rayudu, Dhoni, Shankar/Jadhav, Hardik, Kuldeep, Zaheer, Chahal, Bumrah Adi BB 1 Link to comment

R!TTER
Yuvraj at his best was better than Kapil, over a much longer time period. Of course he was also playing for a better outfit, so keep that in mind. Link to comment

Even historically, Zaheer is one of the best left arm fast bowlers of the world. However, our bowling is still not that bad. We can do well with having a solid middle order batsman. Sachin perhaps. vayuu1
kapil, zaheer ,sehwag and kumble, Kapil gives you hitting power plus then you have a fantastic bowler and fielder, Kumble in place of chahal will complement kuldeep big time, Plus kuku sounds much better than kulcha, zaheer has all the tricks plus him and bumrah is a deadly combo, sehwag and Rohit can be a deadly combo plus sehwag is a wonderful offie as well. velu 1 Link to comment
vayuu1
Also this should be strictly about players who have retired Link to comment

ShoonyaSifar
Yuvraj and Raina, both currently available, instead of the Rayudu, DK and Shankar. Raina is in fact younger than Dhawan, Rayudu and DK! If at all we need experience of grandpas (and average fielders), better to have oldies who have been WC winners for us.
