Dhruved Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 Sandeep Warrier, who went unsold at the auction, has been signed by Kolkata Knight Riders for the upcoming edition of IPL. The move comes after an injury to Kamlesh Nagarkoti. Warrier picked up eight wickets in six games - with a hat-trick against Andhra - at an economy of 5.81 for Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament. KKR will be his second IPL franchise, the first being Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he was for three seasons from 2013 to 2015 but didn't get a chance to play. The extent of the injury to Nagarkoti isn't known yet. The pacer had missed the last season as well because of a foot injury. KKR start their campaign with a home game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 24. Shivam Mavi is also going to miss this year IPL due to stress fracture.

Going by how our management handles things and the usual script for most promising Indian fast bowlers, this is how it will work He will come with a remodeled action and 10ks slower and after 3-4 years at age 24 will top the domestics with his new dibble dobbly seamers. After consistent performances for 3-4 years will finally get a shot at age 27-28 when he is even slower by 5 more ks. Eventually a hack will end his career in one of the bilateral ODIs or T20s raki05, Suhaan, Mosher and 1 other 1 3

Foot injury was in IPL. Back injury happened later. He had back issue even before u19 WC but recovered just before WC. Now Mavi also has suffered stress fracture of the back. I hope both recover quickly and bowl with the same pace that they used to do. Like in case of Waqar who got stress fracture late in his career and lost his pace after that. Early stress fractures do not often lead to loss in pace like in case of Brett Lee, Mitch Johnson, Mitch Starc, Aaron and Umesh. All had these early. Nathu was bowling quite quick this Ranji trophy but was still far away from his best when it comes to consistency and rhythm. He is a big talent as well, was hitting 145K 2 years back on his IPL debut. Suhaan, Mosher and UrmiSinhaRay 3

I remember reading once that stress fracture at a younger age is good for fast bowlers because he returns stronger after recovery, especially the part of the body affected by it. But stress fracture in older bowlers harms them, slows them down. Dunno if it is broscience or has scientific explanation, but there are cases of young quicks developing stress fracture and their pace not suffering after healing, in fact them even doing better post comeback. Gollum Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 Lillee was one guy who had stress fracture in his back at a young age (22-23) and then had a long, successful career post comeback. Even Waqar did good, pace increased post his 1st stress fracture in 1991-92.
