Lillee was one guy who had stress fracture in his back at a young age (22-23) and then had a long, successful career post comeback. Even Waqar did good, pace increased post his 1st stress fracture in 1991-92.

Lillie actually lost pace after his stress fracture in 1973,  he was quick from 1971-1973.  Aaron had 3-4 stress fractures ibut still bowls 145.

Didn't see him live obviously, but from what I read/heard he only lost pace in late 70s. Only those who followed his career live can give an accurate picture.

He was the Australian version of Ashwin, Infact a smarter version, saala Sc series se phat jaati thi iski. That is why I rate Haddlee and Marshall as 2 of the best of all time.

Any way mad mad respect for what he did for Indian pace bowling though

Yeah I find him overrated too. But he made fast bowling popular, him and Andy Roberts were the pioneers. An entire generation of outstanding genuine quicks followed inspired by these 2.

This Nagarkoti has been injured since he stood out in the U-19 WC.

Going by how our management handles things and the usual script for most promising Indian fast bowlers, this is how it will work

He will come with a remodeled action and 10ks slower and after 3-4 years at age 24 will top the domestics with his new dibble dobbly seamers.

After consistent performances for 3-4 years will finally get a shot at age 27-28 when he is even slower by 5 more ks.

Eventually a hack will end his career in one of the bilateral ODIs or T20s

Just like Jermaine Blackwood,Ben Duckett, Matt Renshaw became future ATGs right?

Some folks should know when to quit reading the "future".

Agarkar with similar frame hardly ever had injury. Same way Sharma is "uninjurable"

Agarkar was an incredible athlete. After Kapil Dev was probably the first fast bowler who was an incredible fielder.

Ishu is built like a horse literally.

I thought Nagarkoti was built the same way with the ease he was hitting 145+ in U-19. Had a pretty smooth action too, may be a freakish injury. He can bat and field. Infact Both him and Mavi, refreshing to see multi dimensional cricketers given the one dimensional crap we have playing for the senior side.

Nagarkoti is better fielder than any fast bowler we ever had. He is one of the most athletic cricketers we have currently but stress fractures have nothing to do with being athletic. You won't find more athletic fast bowlers than Brett Lee, James Anderson and Mitchell Johnson in modern era and all had stress fractures. Even Shivam Mavi is a good athlete and fielder.

Even the fastest athlete on planet Usain Bolt gets injuries. So being athletic doesn't make you injury free.

True bro, but the concern is that Nagakoti has already taken one year to recover and he is still not fit, we dont know at what level was he injured and why is it taking so long and just hoping that when he and Mavi comes back to full fitness they should be able to bowl at the same pace they are known to bowl.

Many of our previous fast bowlers lost pace like Munaf Patel, and when promising young bowlers lose pace is not a good sign like Khaleel Ahmed.

Stress fractures do take 6 months to a year to heal. Nothing new or surprising about it.
