In fact Imran Khan and Wasim Akram are legends for some in India. Even in BBC mastermind Indians have picked up Pakistan cricket as subjects. They were more mercurial in the 80s and 90s and early 2000s..I rarely missed any game. And yes the names I mentioned liked them for cricket too. Ignore the border and den comment. AK007 1

Khota Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 (edited) It was impressive. Greatest is over the top . Greatest was when Kapil and his men beat the mighty windies. This England team is good but nothing compared to Windies. Edited June 4, 2019 by Khota

You must have that mentality. I always apperciate talent , it doesn't matter where they come from.My comment about op knowing more about Pakistan stems from his previous posts. How much do you know about Wasim Raja???
Laaloo Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 How about India in the 2003 World Cup? Thrashing in the first game against Australia and the back a shambolic performance in a win against Holland and then we just flipped a switch and thrashed everything that came in the way until we mer aus again in the final. Brother of Rameez Raja and decent middle order batsman is all I know. Did not follow Pakistan in those times. 90s I may know decent about them and pretty much every series and games Pakistan and Australia played. Two teams without whom I may just stop watching this game. Windies of now gives some hope. BTW I worked for one of the top IT firms and bunch of South Indians were hardcore South African fans. So much so that they could not tolerate SA losing to India too. So my point was this is cricket and everyone is entitled to pick their favs and follow them. I have been a pace bowler and for me the Wasims, Waqars, Mcgraths, Lee, Akhtar etc were the ones to watch. Edited June 4, 2019 by Haarkarjeetgaye AK007 1

My predictions are doing pretty good so far - predicted that SL will win the battle for 10th spot ahead of Afg. Predicted BD will win a big game early in the piece, but will fade away from semi-final contention. Predicted that SA and Pak will not make Semi, NZ very likely to make it. Aus/WI for the 4th slot. With the greenbros being long-shot contenders.
Turning_track Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 It was a quality performance from Pak yesterday but calling it the greatest turnaround will be overstating it. Pakistanis have got a few quality players around, it won't change the fact even if they are pretty inconsistent. Kenya beating WI in 1996 WC & SL in 2003 WC was impressive, along with Bangladesh win against Pak in 1999 WC.

A match before that as well with Windies. So after losing to NZ and Pak, Aus had to win all the games and they did so handsomely beating, India, Zim and SA and a dramatic draw in semis. So much so that I think Aus then won all games in 2003 and 2007 also. That is a turn around That is an excellent point. It took more than a decade for them to lose a world cup game. Haarkarjeetgaye 1

And personally to see Mcgrath turn around was an absolute pleasure. From being swept to sixes by Moin Khan, he went on to clean bowled BC Lara and Tendulkar in the first over ct behind. Go watch these dismissals and see those games by Australia. They were under severe pressure till Donald and Klusener messed it up in the Semi Final.
Asim Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Hold on, they can surprise u even bigger vs SL next match... (Btw Kulasekra playing or retired?)

What I have also observed with this guy is he makes these elaborate posts and then seldom takes part in discussions thereafter. Earlier I used to think he is a bot. Nikola 1
Singh bling Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 A turnaround is when almost everbody writes you off and then you go to win tournament. 1992 Pak and 1999 Aus were only turnaround. Haarkarjeetgaye 1
