Let us Stop calling Pakistan CT final Win a Fluke coz if they Win WC same ppl will look Foolish. Understand LOI any team can beat anyone on a given day . Even the mighty Aussies were beaten by bangladesh in 2005 with that ashraful knock. We Saw SL bear ENG in Wc recently and Today Pakistan defeated Nz who was unbeaten till now.

Pakistan won that tournament by winning game after game and the final so hows its a fluke???? Yes We were and are a better team by miles but in LOI any team can beat anyone on their day and pakistan is known to do so. We had Kohli as captain who is knwn to be not so good in Final situation and Pakistan kept their calm that day.....which is why he has no IPL trophy till now . 

 

Pressure is a huge factor in WC and more often then not it trumps over quality on any one day. So Lets not call it a fluke coz who knws it might happen again.  Even the mighty WI got defeated by us in 1983 .......so even mighty teams can be defeated on given days just the percentage is less and in this Wc no team is like Mighty WI or AUS . 

 

Semi final n finals will see the side on loosing end who will choke under pressure

They are a tremendous team in England, have always been, also a team that raises its level in ICC events. Only a fool will take them lightly in these conditions.

Even Australia and India, the 2 best LOI teams of the last 20 years haven't been this good in England.

Pakistan's speciality is having 2 or 3 players with novelty factors.

Who win them games or series although they generally wear off later.

Their system is not good enough to produce 3-4 ATGs but still good enough to give them a few one year wonders.

Certainly not fav by the standards . 

Ind n Aus are still far better team and if they play them pakistan will always be an underdog

It is impossible to fluke an ICC event, impossible. Just because an inferior team holds its nerves better on the big day, doesn't mean it's a fluke. Upsets happen, matches are never contested on paper sheets, all champions in every discipline deserve their success. After we beat them in 1983 F, Lloyd's superhumans came to India and hamari keh ke le li....that doesn't discount the significance of the event on 25 June 1983, Lord's. I have never heard any WIndian legend call it a fluke, not even the butthurt ones like Holding and Gomes...miracle yes !!!!

Yup CT is a knockout and they knocked out teams on all days in last half hence they won but still ppl call it Fluke here....

Dude there is only one favorite in a WC, Australia. They will peak in the KOs, likh kar rakh lo. Poyzz have been their b!tches for many decades now, phir saamna hua toh unki g@nd faad denge. Only Team India can stop the Aussie juggernaut, provided a few many things go in our favor.

yea i knw Cricketers themselves call it fluke which is funny coz they knw this sport and specially pakistan team's nature.

In 2012 when Pak defeated us in home series i remeber how every expert of ours were cussing our structure n domestic system and Pak cricketers were praising their. They wanted BCCI to learn from PCB

Guess what happened few months after

In 2013, We defeated them in CT and the same experts started cussing Pakistan domestic structure and everything . They then wanted PCB to learn from BCCI ....

You mean BCCI/IPL arm twisting Aussies

Pakistan won nothing since that CT win and lost every possible series (home/away). They were on a 12 match losing streak. So ofcourse people will call that win as a fluke if you cant maintain consistency.

Top teams like Ind/Eng does well in ICC events but also maintains their ranking by playing good cricket all year. Pak languish at 7th rank , loose most of its matches and then somehow finds their mojo in world events.

Either they deliberately underperform in bilaterals or ICC events pump them up.

Apart from Windies of 75/79, Australia of 2003 & 2007, and India of 2013 champions trophy, Srilanka to an extent in 1996 all other ICC trophies have had winners who have either won by fluke/luck or Momentum. After winning the championship, you ideally expect the champion team to carry the crown and dominate the world cricket, but apart from the ones mentioned above, no other team has managed to stamp their authority on the cricketing world like clive loyds windies and steve waughs Australia. Even after winning the WC in 2011, our butts were handed by England (though in the tests), I will rate Indias 2013 Champions trophy victory above 2011 worlcup for sheer clinical performance in the entire tournament, where you did not  lose a single match and went on to win the championship without a flutter. This is a good format to the worldcup where the longevity of your performance is tested along with skills, thus eradicating fluke championships, however you can never write off luck and momentum from such tournaments which adds to the x factor and brings allot of entertainment value. Thats why modern day cricket desperately needs a test championship, because you can fluke your way in the LOI format, but in tests only the best can be trumped as true champions.
