Dil Dil India Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Okay, so toss is not in our hands. It is likely England will once again be gifted the flattest of flat tracks which will nullify both spinners. Assuming we can't drop the deadwood that is Dhoni, what is the best we can do? 1) Rohit 2) Rahul 3) Kohli 4) DK 5) Dhoni 6) Pant 7) Pandya 8) Bhuvi 9) Chahl/Kuldeep 10)Shami 11)Bumrah We bat till 8 - Bhuvi has test 50s in England IIRC and can bat. Out of Kulcha, I am tempted to go Kuldeep. From memory, Chahal bowls more pies and bad balls than Kuldeep on average. The rest of the line-up picks itself. I am still tempted to have Jadhav over DK especially since it gives us an extra bowling option. God forbid, if BK twists his ankle like he did vs Pak, then we are screwed.
SRT100 Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Hitman KL Kohli Pant Pandya Dhoni Jadeja Kumar Shami Chalal Bumrah India need a big innings from Hitman or Kohli. DK/Jedhav will not win India a match or help attain a par score its useless and wasteful to have them in the side. Jadeja however can be a match winning bowler.

Dhoni is useless and Pant/Pandya are dashers...which effectively means just Rohit and Kohli. I'd have Jadeja over Dhoni but it will never happen

I would have more faith in Jadeja/Kumar together batting than DK or Jedhav. The only way India can win the world cup is if Kohli or Rohit hit 150+. This reminds me of the old days of India being so dependent on Tendulkar.
Vijy Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Pant, Rohit, Kohli, KLR, Jadhav, Pandya, Bhuvi, Dhoni, Kuldeep/Shami, Chahal, Bumrah. No doubt everyone will hate the presence of jadhav (who is no good if he bats below 5), but not having a 6th bowler option will screw us up if even one of the bowlers does badly (which I'm sure they will). Alternative is to swap jadhav for jaddu, but batting will be further weakened.
figo6762 Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 (edited) Will play jadeja and open the bowling with him should finish Shami off by 40 overs. Will let jaddu bowl to stokes fast flat spinners Edited July 4, 2019 by figo6762
CG Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Will play jadeja and open the bowling with him should finish Shami off by 40 overs. Will let jaddu bowl to stokes fast flat spinners And jaddu will go the distance as in champion's trophy final.
CG Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 I would play Agarwal at 4 and drop pant to 5.Bring in Kuldeep for Bhuvi. bowl_out 1
Lannister Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Agarwal Sharma Kohli KL Jadhav Pant (wk) Pandya Kumar Shami Chahal Bumrah We need to strengthen our batting. That is the only way we can defeat this England side. Expect another run fest on the same ground. Switchblade, Nikola and Under_Score 1 2
diga Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Need to find a place for Jadeja.. maybe drop Dhoni & get Pant to keep Norman 1
Insidious Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Tbh we are really needed some one like dhawan as opener. Who could be aggressive and yet sensible and hence allowing some like Rohit to settle down. For once, I want KL Rahul to go after English bowlers even if he get out in the process. We need make full use of new ball while batting because once the ball get older, it's game over.
bowl_out Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Agarwal might be the No. 4 that we've been looking for.. KL Rohit Kohli Agarwal Dhoni (Ideally DK here) Pant Pandya Jadeja/Bhuvi Kuldeep Shami Bumrah
GautiMaan Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Pant came in and started having an impact straight away..no reason Mayank cannot do the same. Hope they play Mayank and Jadeja against SL and see what kind of form they are in..if they show promise alter the XI accordingly.
Wristy flick Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Rahul Rohit Kohli Dhoni Pant Pandya Jadeja Bhuvi Shami Kuldeep/Chahal Bumrah
asterix Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Need Jadeja’s darts on these slow pitches... He can get few LBWs... Key is to get their openers early...
flamy Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Mayank Rohit Kohli KL Dhoni Pant Pandya Jadeja/Bhuvi Chahal Shami Boomer Mayank can bowl some offies
Deleted_User_1 Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Bairstow and Stokes can take the game away in a jiffy! I would agree that Jadeja is a good choice. Also why is Mayank not in the team instead of useless D/K?
prasen82 Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Mayank rohit kohli KL rahul Pant Pandya DK Jadeja/kuldeep/chahal Bhuvi Bumrah Shami
Laaloo Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Don’t let Dhoni bat... Bhaiyya, Sgattick10, bahubali and 4 others 6 1
Norman Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Would wait until the Lanka game to see how Mayank/Jaddu perform (if they play). Either way Jadeja must play against England instead of Chahal and Kuldeep for Bhuvi. Pant Rohit Kohli Rahul Mayank Pandya Dhoni Jadeja Kuldeep Shami Bumrah
