A bit of Continuity and Iyer, KL, Pant all have started finding their feet, thats what kohli shud have done before 2019 Wc

Iyer now has played continuously from WI tour......has found his feet

Pant post Dhoni gone on sabbatical has played continuous and finally he is finding his feet

KL has played 6 t20s and 2 ODi together which is not much but has gotten betetr with every game, even when he played WC whole he did decent.

 

Moral of the story : Youngsters need continuity n safety .....they ll fail but thats where u need to back them coz everyone fails . If they wont fail how would they learn . Kohli became better batsman after england tour debacle. All these young players have earned their spot all they need is time to crack international cricket...some take less time some take more but have patience

 

Kohli gave all these guys around 5-10 games before Wc....which was so foolish. He talks about idolizing dhoni who after 2011 Wc said we need to give young guys 70-80 games exp

Kohli is fan boy of guys like yuvi, rohit forgetting they got immense backing from their captain. 

 

Kohli wasted a lot of time on guys like rayudu, raina, DK....hope now he learns his lesson even though we can still see Jadhav in Lineup

Well KL Rahul doesn't bat anywhere other than an opener. 

 

Rayudu - No idea how he became automatic up to a point

Jadhav - he managed to con us with his side spin sneaked into the side as batting all rounder

Shankar - He just had to be better than Rayudu lol which was not difficult. Also a cover for Pandya

Karthik - they mixed up the format and picked him as a finisher forgetting that he is a mental midget

 

None of these guys needed to be selected.

So how do we say he cant ???? we tried him at 4 for 2-3 games just 

He cud n can easily bat at 4 but give him 10-15 games.....when u give someone new position give them time. Sehwag n rohit were given assurance for that many games. This mess is just becoz of the reason coz no youngster was given decent number of games. 

 

KL is now making runs and even in Wc....when he knew his place is safe

Kohli or the TM should get ZERO credit if these three have indeed turned a corner (and Kuldeep). Rahul and Iyer went to domestic cricket to regain confidence, Pant went to his childhood coach. Shows you the uselessness of yesmen like Vikram Rathour as batting coach. 
 

Long way to Gor the three youngsters though. Need to keep doing this regularly to keep their haters away.

He was aiming to completely sideline Kuldeep,if not for his hatrick today ,would have accomplished his objective

also players get to bat at 4 and 5 ... 

also for some reason dhoni likes rayudu 

 

kohli was shadow captained by dhoni . 
 

finally ganguly at top is the biggest change - shastri ass on fire as ganguly clearly said no trophies ..bare cupboard !

Yeah this seems a lot like Kohlis team now and he seems to be more confident on the field too. Earlier in LOIs he was happy to take a back seat on the field and let dhoni do most of the work. But when that happens its dhonis way if playing which gets implemented.

 

Also bowlers like kuldeep seem to do better when they can think on their own without being spoon fed. Good to see kohli coming into his own in LOI captaincy. Now if he can also let go of this tendency of believing trundlers are more useful in LOIs and believe in pace like he did in tests. Pants young hands wont hurt as much against pace

Why Rayudu was firstly selected  & dropped  ?

Why Karun nair was dropped just after 6 inns?

Why V.Shankar has been dropped with out giving an extended run?

Why Iyer was dropped just after 5 inns?

Why Rahul was dropped only after playing 60 test inns to realize that he is inadequate for the format?

Why proven failure Rohit is selected  as a test opener  moving forward?

Why Agarwal has not been selected for ODIs  despite  having such  a great LIST A  track record?

Its hard to let go of the NZ defeat,especially when we see Iyer and Pant,there are others like Gill,Shaw and even Mayank who can make tremendous impact.

Yet the TM chose to ignore all of them in the WC squad,this will haunt the fans for a long time

Yes instead of Jadhav. We have seeya tendency type casting players with this TM. They are hardly flexible with players. They type caste them into a certain role like Sundar has been type cast and is hardly getting chances as a batsman which is his main skill. Same with Dubey like a lower order hitter who can bowl. They hardly take any gamble. Both Sundar/Dubey can bat at 6 but they are preferring Jadhav who has no future and wasn't trusted upon in WC by this same TM.

Not inadequate ...just had a very bad 1-2 yrs many crickter has had it

he has 100 in Aus, ENG, WI.....u cant be not good n get those

Think main issue with team is that they play main players in every game - need key players rested in bilateral series
