Good post. Ball seams in and he gets trapped. Still he is such a positive player like Sehwag that it should not be a major issue in itself. Link to comment
Pandya_Power
He has actually made changes to his stance and trigger movement. He is slightly opened up and stays till before the delivery. Great to see. Link to comment

That was post peak Sehwag, at his best he used to block these bowls easily & his mode of dismissal was caught outside off mainly in slips. It's mainly after 2005/06 he got into this bad habit of going apeshit in tests & lost all his momentum! Link to comment

Also with such little height Shaw will be strangled against the Tall pacy fast bowlers , case in point Starc ,Irfan, Nortje . Sehwag was 5'6. He is 5'3. Link to comment
bowl_out
Simon Doull made a good point.. Shaw's batting style is getting into position and kinda throw the bat at the ball.. similar to how Sehwag played.. very little back foot movement.. it works well on flat surfaces, but might be found wanting on swinging/seaming conditions... he needs to fine tune his technique against the seaming ball Link to comment

He was easily blocking these similar incoming deliveries today. They were constantly targetting him there and he wasn't really troubled until then. Went too hard on this one though, going after the new bowler. Link to comment

C'mon he turned 20 couple of months back. He is a confident young man maybe trying too hard to dominate, to make his mark in this gun top order. He looked very comfortable out there today scoring on both off and leg. The talent is there, needs to be nourished by playing him more. Link to comment
aditya19
he will do well when there is no lateral movement... dont know his batting against the spinners as he was struggling a bit in in the ipl with that. nevada 1 Link to comment

RajBan
Just feel that Prithvi may struggle against intelligent teams. He looks to play at the same mode no matter what and does not yet possess the temperament to graft a long innings. He can score a 150 ball 200, but can he score a 300+ ball 200 if needed. Also given that he thrives on boundary shots and a reluctant runner plus has fitness issues, an in and out field can mess up his momentum and force him to gift his wicket. The good thing is he has range of shots and age is on his side to make significant improvements. tweaker 1 Link to comment
