A team with “known” not retired players who have been around for at least 3 seasons but feel  unlikely to win IPL (not that they cannot win but it would feel like a miracle) .... Current/recent players who played international cricket given preference:

Shaw

KL (wk) - until his SR improves

Kohli (c)

Iyer

Pandey

V Shankar

Axar

Gopal

Thakur

Umesh

Khaleel - left arm option

12th man: Rahane (can field well)

On paper the team ticks certain boxes:

Attacking opener in Shaw

Purple cap holder KL

T20 King Kohli

Talented Iyer

Dependable Pandey

Multi skilled Shankar

Hitter + Spinner Axar

Leggie Gopal, who can bat well

Thakur, who can swing his bat

Umesh, who can pick up early wkts

Khaleel, who can bowl left arm “medium”

The way IPL has gone over the past 10 years, plug in any 10 players with Kohli as the captain and, if your mission is a <5% chance to win IPL, then ... accomplished.
