Ankit_sharma03 Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 (edited) Well we all know that by now which is why his team chokes, but coming from a player from his own IPL side who also has been part of other guys team to have a right comparison. Parthiv has been a damn good domestic captain so he knws what he is talking about Edited November 23, 2020 by Ankit_sharma03 Vk1 1
Serpico Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 he's probably salty that kohli didn't give him even one match when he was decent last season. still I support the message

But it is brave of him to say what he did and hope all the negative feedback spurs Virat on to turn a corner in his captaincy and attitude. raki05 1

bowl_out Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Got sh*t-scared reading the title of this thread.. "Gambhir n Parthiv vs Aakash Chopra - Who should lead Team India in T20Is?" I thought the OP was going to suggest that one of them was making a comeback to become the captain of the India T20 side raki05, express bowling, Sgattick10 and 1 other 4
Vk1 Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Aakash Chopra has a point.. its too late for Rohit to take the mantle with only few games left before the T20 worldcup.. selectors should have got rid of kohli in 2018 itself

There is a T20 WC in a year and another in one year from then on... But agree that they should have made the change in 2018
Vickydev Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 When he says just slightly better, that is still sitting on the fence. Kohli needs to step down

Enough time for a new captain to take over and settle into the role if BCCI wants. But is unlikely to happen unless Kohli develops some sense of shame for having achieved almost NOTHING extraordinary in LOIs in a 4 years tenure.

I do not think Rohit needs any matches to settle down . He knows the game of all the players , already captained India in T20s and a very very good captain of MI. In fact his leadership level a notch above Virat is there for all to see. In fact we have an ABSOLUTELY READY MAN to lead .

Kohli hasnt done better but Rohit has done better. Successful captains are those who wins trophy not who come second Sanga- Kohli hasnt done anything wrong

ShoonyaSifar Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 Anyone but Kohli (time to sack him as captain from all the formats). Too much of power has gone to his head. All that matters to him is his image and his brand endorsements. Yesterday was our 6th international loss on the trot (3 ODIs and 2 tests for n NZ). But to Kohli, it does not matter any longer. He is where Dhoni was during the 2012-12 away drubbings when losses stopped bothering him. At least he had 2007 T20 WC and 2011 WC wins under him but Kohli has reached this stage without achieving much as a captain (tons of home wins, flop in tougher series away from home). Calling the test series win vs a weakened Australian side as Indian cricket's biggest achievement showed the benchmark he sets for himself and the team. Longer he remains the captain, more damaging it will be for this team and Indian cricket in general. In any case, this Aus series will further expose how poor a captain he is. Coming after another IPL flopshow by RCB under him, will hopefully pile up the pressure on him and he will quit, if not for anything at least due to shame. chewy, sorak and Banton 3
chewy Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 In Aus v India, and then SA v Eng, all commentators discussed IPL performances regularly. In SA v Eng T20 many times they showed stats from IPL. It is pretty clear IPL is now the gold standard in T20 and performances dominate T20 analysis. It Rohit Sharma is the most successful captain in IPL history whilst Kohli has done jack. It is pretty clear who should be leading India in T20s and ODIs. Kohli is turning into a cancer for India cricket...time cut the tumor.
