Yep. As much as I wanted him to rest today, we need him to fire. Aus batting is too good and Bumrah has to be at his best today.

Surely a guy with 3 triple hundreds in Ranji can bat. His best as a batsman is coming in later part of his career. But thats good for Indian cricket that it is happening.

He can bat decent for a #8, he can hit if its in his power zones, you cannot expect him to give you #6 level batting.  

 

That's about it.  Test matches don't have the scoring pressure, and he can wait for deliveries in his zone.  He is averaging 40+ I think with the bat over last 4 years.

love how pandya doesnt give a crap about 100s, most batsman wud have told other guy for strike....even in 1st game went for a 6 and lost his wkt when many wud have taken time to get 100 , need such players

Unless bowlers pull a rabbit out, this is a bit like junk-time goals - making a 4-0 scoreline end up with 4-2.  Not much to get excited about.

Because he has the confidence and self-belief that he will get other chances and doesn't need to seize it like some insecure morons like Mongia, Prabhakar or others.
