gakgupta Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 (edited) I know....lots of ICFers will be cursing me for saying this.... Some might even say that there is difference between test matches and T20's I know all that....but he might not do worse that Umesh... This guy has brains....and he is left hand bowler.... If Sam curran can do it....why not Natarajan?? Edited December 7, 2020 by gakgupta sandeep, Vk1, Adamant and 3 others 5 1
gakgupta Posted December 7, 2020 Author Posted December 7, 2020 he seems to have the delivery which brings into right handers...

Siraj Saini are better picks as 3rd pacer. express bowling 1
Cricketics Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 I can play him in England may be, not in Australia. Ball won’t move and Aussies won’t be in a hurry to attack him like how batsmen do in t20s where they fall prey to varitions while attacking. Also let him play for Indian A sides or warm ups.
gakgupta Posted December 7, 2020 Author Posted December 7, 2020 i mean...if we have to play Umesh....this guy would be a better pick Vilander and sandeep 2
Mosher Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Saini/Siraj are better options which are available and have performed in Ranji/A tours. What has Natarajan done in the longer format? He should not be picked just because he is a left arm pacer. It will be like picking Unadkat in SA. Vk1, Cricketics, RAZPOR and 2 others 5

The choice of the 3rd pacer is not limited to Umesh only. My pick is Saini. Mosher, Cricketics and RAZPOR 3
Adamant Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 ABSOLUTELY NO. Don't even think about it. You dont realise how daunting test cricket can be for a debutant who hasn’t played a significant amount of first class cricket.
Gollum Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 (edited) Does he have the stamina to bowl 20-25 overs/day and field the rest of the time? Not an option unless he has sufficient FC experience, even a sprint GOAT like Usain Bolt can't immediately transfer his skills to marathon racing.....this guy hasn't even cemented his place in shortest format!!!! Nattu adds nothing with bat or on field. I like him and really want him to succeed but he adds max value in T20 cricket, not even ODIs, let us stick to that for the time being. Ankit_sharma03 Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 No please no, he is just for t20s thats it Some bowlers like Varun.C , Natrajan are best only when opp is looking to score quick express bowling and nevada 2

But i think he has won a test for them with ball

He played 20 first class games for tamilnadu https://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/player/802575.html Avg 25 on flat Chennai wickets....
gakgupta Posted December 7, 2020 Author Posted December 7, 2020 compare it to saini saini didnt drastcially do better than natarajan
Real McCoy Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Natarajan won't perform in tests unless he bowls much quicker. Slow balls and yorkers in LOIs are useful not so much in tests. You need someone with pace, swing/seam and bounce to survive in Australia as the kookaburra stops swinging after 20 overs. Im saying bounce because many Indians dont generate enough bounce off of a good length compared to Aussies who are a bit taller. Our bowlers need to have a swing component to match up with them. He cannot sustain, He & Varun gives us a bit of hope in 21 & 22 T20 WC of a good show. Adamant 1
putrevus Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Does Saini have tools to do well in this test cricket. He has very little movement, Siraj even though is lot slower has some movement. Both are going to massive drop off in class from Ishant Sharma.

A very important point. And one of the reasons why Bumrah and Shami have done better than many other Indian pacers. Because Shami and especially Bumrah, get bounce off length balls from time to time ... and surprise batsmen with awkward bounce often enough. ( Bumrah because of his unusually long arms, hyperextension of arms and high arm action ... Shami because of his seam position, wrist whip and high arm action ) Among new pacers ... Prasidh, Tyagi and Mavi have this quality too. Vk1 and Mosher 2
